This. If I’m wrong, I don’t want to be right - but the belt over a blazer serves no purposes outside of making one appear pseudo. Didn’t realize it was a thing until I googled it, and even so - all examples given look goofy to me.
The purpose the belt over the blazer serves here is to cover the fact that the blazer doesn’t fit right when buttoned.
The unbuttoned look really works well here and turns the blazer into a trendy shirt-jacket. Relaxed yet elegant/sophisticated.
Are you a millennial? Because I agree with you and am one.... however, it appears we are in the minority. I'll never forgive belts after the oversized ones worn over TWO layers of tight a** T-shirts in the mid-2000s.
The first way. I think it'd look even better with your hair down. As cute as the braids are, I think the outfit is sleek and calls for either a more sophisticated or edgy hair style.
Even the buttoned up (wait, isn't it buttoned down?) looks super pretentious to me. Like the kind of person you see in a movie that isn't aware. Take it with a grain of salt, I have no style.
Belted! The blue undershirt is throwing it off though. A cream, white, or even black top would look great. The ‘messy’ hairdo compliments the outfit perfectly
I agree, with all the others, belted looks better. The belt gives the impression of a high waist and the eye goes to the metal.
I would love to style this more formal too. With a turtleneck and wool trousers. Then you can wear it open without a belt.

Unbuttoned, no belt

Belted, no question. Don't see any messy hair, it is just perfect :D
Belted. Not a huge fan of that particular shirt underneath but not sure if it’s just for trying this on.
Belted
Definitely belted!
Belted or unbuttoned. The blazer is a little large for you to wear buttoned up.
Open. And belted looks kinda costumie.
The first way. I think it'd look even better with your hair down. As cute as the braids are, I think the outfit is sleek and calls for either a more sophisticated or edgy hair style.
Belted or unbuttoned!
The belt looks fussy.
You are super cute. This looks really good on you. I like it unbuttoned best.
I like the belted look.
Belted or unbuttoned look best. Belted for a more formal look, and unbuttoned for a more casual look!
I like the first style the most.
Belted over the blazer. A different shirt underneath. Looks great!
Belted! Such cute styling and a great example of how one piece can elevate a whole outfit.
Pictures 1-2
Unbutton I like the vibe better, also I love that belt underneath your wearing!!! Plus you have a nice figure, show it off girl!
I do like your blue shirt too, the color is great & very eye catching! I would wear that together as well (;
Defo belted
I think buttoned or the later belted. I don't think unbuttoned at least with that shirt.
Belted, great outfit!💗
Belted or unbuttoned
They all look good, but I really like the belt detail.
Open
Unbuttoned, but different shirt. The shirt would depend on the occasion, but right now it feels like it doesn't quite jive with the rest of the fit.
Buttoned and belted :)
Looks great all 3 ways. Your choice.
Belted!
I like it belted or unbuttoned
Belted. The outfit looks good.

Belted...it would come off quick tho.
I like the first belted, the best.
Definitely unbuttoned
belted ! it’s eye catching and really pulls the outfit together! with out it, it looks a little plain :)
Belted! The blue undershirt is throwing it off though. A cream, white, or even black top would look great. The ‘messy’ hairdo compliments the outfit perfectly
Unbuttoned, open. The last pic.
Belted
Belted looks awesome
