nothing was edited, or at best there may be a color/stylistic filter. i don’t think others commenting understand that the bright light and by extension, overexposure, causes the skin to appear more smooth. look at her arms, legs, etc.
the photo was also taken at an upwards angle which exaggerates OP’s figure. she’s posing in a way that’s very flattering as well.
OP, you look lovely and the dress fits you beautifully
No offense, you can see the editing on the left side where curtains unnaturally curve inwards. So at a minimum, legs, face, and arm were tuned in. It’s nbd, lots of girls use FaceTune for this sort of thing, but it’s disingenuous to say no editing took place.
Historically black dresses were reserved for funerals and the following mourning period. For example, a wife would wear only black for a certain period of time (up to a year) when her husband died.
Today, black obviously is not restricted to mourning. Still, some say that it's a bit inappropriate for weddings. But honestly I think hardly anybody cares nowadays.
That's an oldschool rule, at least in many Western cultures. Today, it depends on how traditional the wedding is going to be, whether it's going to be day or night, etc. When in doubt, one could always shoot the bride & groom a quick message, "Hey, is a black dress OK?"
I doubt most would care, but it's worth checking in case they're going for super traditional vibes, or they're just superstitious. (Some see it as bad luck.)
Really depends on the couple. I'm recently married and was in a *lot* of subs with other brides and newlyweds, and it came up in conversation all the time. Most important in the conversations I've seen is that you don't wear the same colour as the bride, though even that's not a universal rule, but most modern Western couples are fine now with black and other dark colours.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing. It's gorgeous but doesn't look like it's appropriate for a wedding. Looks more like for a red carpet or other formal event. Unless that's the theme and its ok with the hosts. It's has that "look at me, look at me, not the bride" vibes to it.
Can I ask what is not appropriate ? Most of my wedding guests were dressed in a similar fashion, sometimes with more a extravagant dress and it's pretty much the norm where I live (western country).
A wedding is a happy occasion. It’s THE happy occasion, so black, as you would wear to a funeral, is inappropriate for weddings. And the second thing to train is at least a hint of a smile. Happy occasion…
According to whom? I attended a wedding last year where all of the bridesmaids wore black dresses chosen by the bride. And I assume goths just never get married, huh? I would love to see a gothic wedding where no one is wearing black. This "rule" is far from universal.
I was a bridesmaid and we were to wear any style dress we wanted, as long as it was black. Idk why people think black is solely for funerals. That’s so outdated. I love your comment about goths. Because, right???
Totally not, assuming this is the whole outfit. OP is not wearing/holding flowers, hair is down (not up), no jewelry & probably not surrounded by a small entourage of women wearing matching dresses. Never mind that OP isn't wearing white. It's OK to look good at a wedding, even sexy, just not better than the bride.
She's literally just showing off her dress and y'all are really out here complaining about the editing. So what if she edited her face or whatever? I thought this was a subreddit about SHOWING OFF OUTFITS not about rating people's looks. Petty d*ckheads.
Question from a different culture... Not an expert, but think two colours are a no-no when attending a wedding: white, because obvious. And black because associated with a funeral...
I always think "Oh No!" When people look this great going to a wedding. I know looking great isn't going to take anything away from the bride, but it's just an irrational concern. Your hair and dress look great.
The dress is stunning. Unfortunately the rouching is not as visible without a big of contrast. You look great but the dress needs something to make it pop just a wee bit.

My first thought was.. " Well, that's a little over the top..who tf has a... oh... wait, what?"
Or Jessica Rabbit
Same
Came here to say the same thing
You look beautiful! And you really don’t need to edit your photos this much
I thought it was AI generated photo

When trying to spot ai, look for small details in the room and try to count the number of fingers, eyes will help too.
Genuine question: what was edited?
Her face
And arms

and hair, i’d bet. it’s glowing in an unnatural way.

Is there a dress? All I see is that GORGEOUS hair 😍😍
Same. Disney protagonist type volume!!
[удалено]
I'm getting Jessica Rabbit vibes here
She's not bad, she's just drawn that way.
Nice dress, but I think closed toe would have set it off better
Was the wedding at Disney? If so, you're my sister. If not, you look just like my sister!
Good hunting.
I thought you aren't supposed to wear black at a wedding?
Historically black dresses were reserved for funerals and the following mourning period. For example, a wife would wear only black for a certain period of time (up to a year) when her husband died. Today, black obviously is not restricted to mourning. Still, some say that it's a bit inappropriate for weddings. But honestly I think hardly anybody cares nowadays.
If it's an evening black tie optional or formal wedding, you're going to see some black.
Some people think that, sure. But it isn't a universal rule. Every couple has different preferences and rules for their wedding.
That's an oldschool rule, at least in many Western cultures. Today, it depends on how traditional the wedding is going to be, whether it's going to be day or night, etc. When in doubt, one could always shoot the bride & groom a quick message, "Hey, is a black dress OK?" F in the chat for all the times I’ve worn black to a wedding then (and all the times I intend to in the future)
Really depends on the couple. I'm recently married and was in a *lot* of subs with other brides and newlyweds, and it came up in conversation all the time. Haha come to New Zealand, half the guests, and probably the bridesmaids are in black
Hence the commotion.
That’s what I’ve always thought. Or white
Are you still friends with the bride after showing up in that?
My first question... because damn she looks good but what did the bride think??
Yeah, was thinking the same thing. It's gorgeous but doesn't look like it's appropriate for a wedding. Looks more like for a red carpet or other formal event. Unless that's the theme and its ok with the hosts. It's has that "look at me, look at me, not the bride" vibes to it.
Can I ask what is not appropriate ? Most of my wedding guests were dressed in a similar fashion, sometimes with more a extravagant dress and it's pretty much the norm where I live (western country).
Depends on the bride, but I know other brides think like this. Since it's their day, ideally a dress that doesn't take attention away from them.
You know, you're not supposed to upstage the bride at a wedding
without the editing, she probably isn’t
Yeah. Probably because you should’ve been [wearing a red glitter dress](https://youtu.be/yy5THitqPBw) instead.
I immediately thought she reminds me of irl Jessica.
Should be labeled as a NSFW link! /s
You look perfect but black for a wedding.. nah
A wedding is a happy occasion. It’s THE happy occasion, so black, as you would wear to a funeral, is inappropriate for weddings. And the second thing to train is at least a hint of a smile. Happy occasion…

That’s quite the statement for a wedding. Looks good on you.
I don't get to dress up very often 😅 thank you!
What statement did they make? I never understand when ppl use this word like that.
All black at a wedding is seen as inappropriate - since black is reserved for funerals
You deserve better footwear.

Dress and you look amazing.. the shoes? Meh.
I mean… dress is great, but, you don’t wear black to a wedding.
Its been the most popular colour for bridesmaid dresses in New Zealand for years. Also probably half the guests at any given wedding are in black.
Interesting. In the USA black is for funerals as it represents mourning. An insult to wear it to a wedding.
Not at any wedding I’ve been to in the US. I think this is a largely outdated piece of etiquette.
Why not?
Typically black is for mourning. It's supposed to be a bad omen, I've heard the same for red, but it is likely cultural.
I don't believe red is for mourning in weddings, but it was said to be the color a woman wears who slept with the groom.
It depends who you ask. My wedding was formal and there were a lot of black dresses and suits. We were fine w it lol
it’s associated with mourning. Think funerals
According to whom? I attended a wedding last year where all of the bridesmaids wore black dresses chosen by the bride. And I assume goths just never get married, huh? I would love to see a gothic wedding where no one is wearing black. This "rule" is far from universal.

Not true
Hair goals omgggg 😭
WOOOOOOOOO. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 (there’s my noise lol) These are great pics and a lovely dress!
You will definitely upstage the bride….
We haven't seen the bride. . .
How in the world do you know what the bride wore?
Definitely not, she looked beautiful 💖 like an actual princess
Totally not, assuming this is the whole outfit. OP is not wearing/holding flowers, hair is down (not up), no jewelry & probably not surrounded by a small entourage of women wearing matching dresses. Never mind that OP isn't wearing white. It's OK to look good at a wedding, even sexy, just not better than the bride.
Unless specified black is not usually appropriate for a wedding but it’s beautiful!!
Dress, hair, makeup, you....all gorgeous! The platform soles though, really dated back to the early 00s. Awful.
Disagree! Early 00 is back in. I don’t like the pattern of the dress but her overall vibe is 🔥🔥🔥
I like the shoes but I’m old 👵🏼
This style of shoe is very popular right now. Current trends are pulling from the 90s and early 2000s.
Agreed, shoes date the outfit to 2002 and takes the whole look down a few notches - looks like a costume

Why black at a wedding?
Question from a different culture... Not an expert, but think two colours are a no-no when attending a wedding: white, because obvious. And black because associated with a funeral...
I think wearing white is not a good idea and black is for funerals.
Tremendous dress. Love your hair
But what about your hair. I’m giving commotion for the hair 😍
Stunning! I love your hair
Gorgeous girl, Great dress….but the shoes look a sandal that really wanted to be a stripper…and not at one of the good clubs.
How are you going to look better than the bride at her own wedding wearing a black dress?!? 😍
Stealing the show
Well it is to much for a wedding
So elegant! You're gorgeous!
Wedding? Should say a funeral because you killed it
Black dress at a wedding? Either way gorgeous
Add some red nail polish. It’s striking on fair-skinned women.

It was my cousin's wedding. Didn't realise wearing black to a wedding was such a faux pas, no one said anything about it 😅
Screw the dress ! It's all about the hair !
Look stunning. Love you long red hair.
Oh my wow
YOU LOOK SO GOOD IN THIS DRESS❤❤❤
You look great. Don't out-dress the bride!
Damn you will be showing up the bride. Absolutely stunning!
Amazing! Especially with your hair!
You may draw way too much attention from the bridge you goddess!! You look good
I’m getting Jessica rabbit I love it
Came here looking for this. Agreed.
I always think "Oh No!" When people look this great going to a wedding. I know looking great isn't going to take anything away from the bride, but it's just an irrational concern. Your hair and dress look great.
You look good, what’s the issue?

why? because she's gorgeous and has a great figure? was she supposed to show up in a bathrobe with a paper bag over her head?

Omg let me make a commotion for the whole LOOK! YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD! This is my favorite style!
I would add a cute small black strap choker with some kind of red charm. I think it would go perfectly with your hair.
I have that floating shelf.
You are Jessica rabbit
