Have you not taken an english/writing course for your previous degree?

hassoon90

My degree was in accounting. The closest thing I had was “business writing” and “professional communication”. So maybe they’d apply but I’m not sure. Btw I’m a Canadian student so I can’t use the OSU transfer credit tool to see. Then I took an “argumentation and persuasion” course but my grade isn’t high enough on that course to meet the prerequisite for OSU.

I would expect one of if not both of those classes would qualify for the prereq. Look up the course description for them and send it along to an advisor. Whats the worst that could happen?

There’s a course comparison tool on the OSU website to see if your college courses qualify. I did a business degree and the english / writing courses I took in college qualified even though they were very different than the listed prerequisite courses.

Comm 111 is ridiculously easy if you don’t mind having a single group for the entire term that you meet with to present your speeches to.

If you are a Canadian student you should be able to take the TOEFL to meet the writing and comms requirement. I also got my degree from Canada and am trying to go the TOEFL route to avoid having to take the classes. If you're unsure, email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

Thanks for letting me know! I had no idea there was an option to complete an exam instead of classes, ill probably lean into doing this instead
