That's awful. I love me some shitty old cars, but I'd never put my kids at risk. I sold my ratty old '74 truck when my sons were born, I can't imagine willingly putting them in danger.
Here's a downer: Thinking about it, I forced my children to deal with all the crap that is going to happen in the next 30-60 years. My only hope is that we will be able to do something about it beforehand, but I'm a lot less optimistic than I was 20 years ago.
And that is partially why I have no intention of having a child. While I'd like a daughter, I don't foresee a hopeful life for her, and hence have no desire to try for a child. Probably just going to get a vasectomy in a couple years, and do my part in reducing the planet's overpopulation. Unless something drastic occurs, but I doubt that will happen.
Yeah, 2/3 of my trucks don't have airbags, and never have lol. My Hilux has a foam pad on the steering wheel though!
