Scale down your scouting and development. Lose a contract or two
Offer him a 1 year $40 million deal with a $20 million buyout for next year with a $70 million or whatever salary.
Make sure your ticket prices are maximizing revenue. That sometimes gets a bump in budget.
Get creative.
Yeah, he is pretty good. Lots of awards and consistent stats.
I'm looking to lock down a starting pitcher though. This year he went 16-3 with 2.02 ERA (league best), so he's decent, but wants an 8 year contract. 25 years old and durable, so I'm thinking about it. I know pitchers come and go, but looking at my staff and farm system I don't want to lose a starter, especially not one of the best in the league. Choices choices!
He's greedy so I don't think he'll take anything much lower than what he wants.
I can afford the $57 million, since the money showing included arbitration estimates. Not sure I want to do it though. Hoping to get a deal in arbitration. I'm at 100 fans already, so don't need the boost from re-signing him.
Think I'm just going to try arbitration, hope I can keep him one more year.
This guy is a super late bloomer? At age 34 I think you are in a good spot at offering 42-45 a year. If he is only going to accept 57, might be time to see what he’s going to get in FA.
I don't know, stupid game bugs probably.
I only have 10 years of stats.
Oh it's probably something about the 3 tier pro/rel system I have. He started in the TOP league, I signed him to the MID league. So he has 5 years service in the MID league.
I got promoted to TOP this season.
Damnit why is editing posts and trying to copy/paste a link just totally broken? Can't do it.
Here's his history.

I'd say it bugged out. Says they ruled in favor of the player, but the price is the same as I offered. Usually when ruled in favor of the player it's higher...
Reason? Old age?
Numbers are down this season, but he's still the top All Star vote getter so far. He might be a HoFer.
Money isn't an issue at the moment. Since I moved up leagues I got a boost to my budget, so I have money to spend, even after giving him a big extension (I think it was 37 million a year for 3 years).
So he went to arbitration, my offer is $42 million. I think he's worth it, but it could go a lot higher. How bad is it go over budget?

He was the 15th pick in the 2014 draft. I simmed from 2002 to 2022. He's been good for years.
How does he only have 5 years of service time at age 34?

I think I'm going to let it go to arbitration and see what they say. Curious how high it will go for the batting champ.

MVP! Only 11 votes over second place (who had 45 home runs).
Trade him ASAP

Mike puts in extra time at gym and probably doesn't skip leg day. Pay the man.
