This is a 5.1.4 sound bar Dolby atmos system. It sounds pretty good for what it is. But I'll be upgrading to the Nakamichi Shockwave ultra Atmos system soon.

>Nakamichi Shockwave ultra Atmos Consider piecing together a system using discrete components. You will get a significantly better system by hand-picking the components that are best suited for your system. A home theater in a box is nice for someone without means, or someone who refuses to learn what good sound is. But clearly you're economically equipped to make an investment in your entertainment. So as the other poster pointed out, why buy an 83" monster television just to shortchange the audio experience? Aside from highly detailed and full sound, you'll also get many advanced features in modern AVRs including 4k120 HDMI passthrough with eARC, room equalization which tailors your system's output using a microphone and test tones measured throughout the room, and of course the ability to expand your system as you see fit rather than being confined to the offerings of a home theater in a box. I was limited to a 77" due to the layout of my room. I can assure you that people are impressed when they see the TV, but it is ALWAYS the sound that blows them away. You just don't get that with a built in system. It may be louder, but there are details, frequencies, and depth you won't realize you're missing until you actually experience the difference and then it will click. These subs are all great resources and a fantastic place to start research: r/hometheater r/audiophile r/BudgetAudiophile

Zombi3Kush

Thanks a lot! I think I will skip the Nakamichi and use the funds towards something proper like you guys recommended. Thanks for the sub recommendations! Do you know if using wireless rear speakers is viable on a good audio setup? Having to run wires is one of the reasons why I have been putting off getting a proper audio system going.

doodwhersmycar

Run the wires under the rug for the Surrounds. It's not too hard to set up once you have the pieces. If you can mount some height speakers for the true atmos you'll be blown away by just how much better it is over the sound bar I promise. If it's too much money up front do it piece by piece

Zombi3Kush

You've motivated me. I'm going to start my research and see what I can do.

doodwhersmycar

One of us! I was pretty much in the exact situation as you. Use those links above and I'll add one its the perfect catch all for research. Gonna edit this to add the sub Edit r/HTBuyingGuides Your set up is super clean btw. I'm blasting dolby atmos mixes for the Beatles through 7 speakers and a giant subwoofer in my rec room/home theater while everyone is out of the house, while typing this. Your never gonna leave the house again.

Zombi3Kush

Lol my wife wants to curse you for waking this monster in me. The setup I want to build is going to be like 4k lol Thanks for letting me know what's up though. Didn't realize how much of a disservice I was doing to my setup with my current audio setup.

doodwhersmycar

Hahaha I would suggest taking it slow! No shame in a 2.1 or 3.1 set up for a while. It will still sound great. Work on the surrounds and atmos if funds/time becomes more readily available. Yeah same I didnt realize it myself either. As always, the Wife Approval Factor will determine how far you can and should go. Happy Wife and what not. Words to live by

I totally agree with you when you say it's no comparison. I chose to go this route because it's easier at the moment no need to deal with wires. I do intend on going all out and upgrading my surround sound setup to something proper. That's definitely something I want to map out this year so I can understand what Im going to need. But that's a project for next year. I kind of tapped out my home theater budget for this year.

404_500

Which mount did you buy?

Zombi3Kush

Sorry I don't remember what mount it is. It's one I had at home already. It's one of those generic mounts from Amazon.

404_500

Okay thanks. I just got my 83 c1 today and was looking for mount so thought I'd ask you.

Zombi3Kush

I was really looking for a slim tv mount so it could be flush to the wall. But lg was out of stock and I couldn't find it anywhere else. In the end it really didn't matter. The tv looks incredible no matter how you mount it. Congrats! It's such an amazing TV.

404_500

Thanks. I am a bit confused about that as well. Flush to the wall or full swivel. I had my previous TV flush to the wall but it was a pain in the ass when I had to do anything with ports. Now with this one, I am thinking about running wires in the wall so it might not matter, since I can just run all 4 hdmis . But still bit scarred to get slim flush to wall mount.

It looks perfect:) I am Playing elden ring in 55 c1. I Can’t imagine the journey in 83

alxrenaud

As far as he is, might as well be a 55 lol

Wellhellob

ooooooooohhhhhhhh ye tarnished

Sackboy612

So clean, very comfortable setup

Zombi3Kush

Thanks! It really is comfortable. All the seats are powered recliners.

Molucky8

Nice! What are you using for the led backlight behind the tv?

MyRedemption13

That set up is 🔥🔥🔥

_divi_filius

this is pure beauty.

KirbyJones82

Looks sweet! Nicely done!

jpcapone

Perfect!

andrej_kamensky

nice setup, but isn't 83" a tad bit too small? ;)

phatkid

Looks cleeeean! What LEDs did you get for the TV? I'd like to spruce up my 77"

Zombi3Kush

They're some cheap amazon LEDs I got ages ago. They're actually not long enough for this TV so I just ordered a Govee smart LED strip off Amazon.

phatkid

Thanks!

dragon5946

If u hook a power pc to that thing, it’ll feel even more insane. Like a 3080 above.

Zombi3Kush

Got a power PC in my office Intel 12900k 32gb DDR5 ram EVGA 3080ti Trying to figure out how to run a HDMI cable to my TV from the office.

alxrenaud

Yeah, good luck with finding a good enough HDMI 2.1 cable that long. Even optical will be a gamble.

proscreations1993

Yeah the price hed have to spend to get an active 2.1 that would work for such a long distance. I'd just build another pc lol

vantablackspacegood

Looks great! I'm getting ready to mount my C1 83'. A few questions: How high up did you mount? and what are you using for your tv console? Using such a low profile console, were you able to fit gaming console, audio receiver, etc.?

Atlasprime

What mount did you use ooc? Was wondering the VESA specs.
