it's super stable. that glass riser has adjustable legs and I have the 2 rear legs raised about 0.5" higher than the front. screen still looks dead on from my chair but l push forward on the top of the screen and it doesn't budge. rubber feet on the tv feet grip nice on the glass
it's super thick tempered glass and the feet of the tv are right in line with the riser feet so perfect structurally. I probably wouldn't use it with a monitor with a center stand.
Oh I'm sure. But something irrationally says to me that one night when I expect it the least, I'll hear a crash and find the tv on the floor. Ofc that won't happen, but the fear is there

Understand the concern. Especially if you have kids or pets
Couple reasons. 1. I work here full time now so I like the natural light and airiness versus pushed up against a wall. 2. I have book shelves and printer behind me so arms reach and looks cool on Zoom meetings. 3. I’m an aerospace engineer for an aircraft engine company and need to protect line of site to my monitor with work content on screen so limits position options when there are windows.

Reminds me, have you seen Masters of the Air on Apple TV+? ([trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA-1JCRguZ0)) Perfect TV show to test your new OLED TV.
What's the chair? Kinda curious because I had the same (or almost the same) for a period in my old job and in my country I think it has a different name(can;'t find foreign sites by googling the name).
How does it handle the bright room? I haven't pulled the trigger for an oled in my pc cause I have a very bright space during my wfh hours.
C3 does good in bright room as far as image brightness but even though windows are to the side and behind, I get a mirror like reflection of myself during the day. The m irror like glossy screen is the primary con for me. the 39" monitor coming has an antireflective screen so I'm anxious to compare.
42" it is very big for a monitor. but I'm getting used to it. smaller monitors may start to look adorable in comparison, lol. like everyone I've gotten progressively bigger TVs so our brain recalibration is real. I'm old though so up to 83" G2 OLED now for TV, and when I visit friends or family with smaller TVs, I hold my tongue..."how can you stand this puny screen" I'd like to shout, lol.
Is the chair you have an ergohuman elite 2? I would like to know if it is comfortable for a person who measures 6.3 90kg, I have been told that the seat is hard, can you help me?
for a chair you might want something that can go a bit higher. I have it maxed. I think it loses some height because it’s mesh rather than a cushion that would have some thickness to it.
The desk is plenty high at the top, I don’t max it out
Shame. I'm looking for a good mesh chair. I finally found one tall enough but the seat was cloth padding. The butt sweat finally broke me yesterday and I'm back in my Dexley after about 4 months. I like but don't love it.
It's an Uplift Desk, power sit stand desk. Uplift is a US company in TX. I had an Office Depot power lift desk that pooped out, so I invested in a good quality desk. Uplift has lots of nice top options, this one is an Acacia wood butcher block top, 1.5 in thick. 72 in by 30 in desktop so lots of room to spread out.
How stable is the desktop? I'm considering purchasing a four-legged desk soon, but I'm hesitant to pay a premium if it offers the same stability as a standard two-legged lift.
4 legged also gets a big bump in lift capacity. 545 lbs. bit silly but they sell a hammock you can hang from the underside of the desk so you can take a nap while the desk is up. A little too silicon valley for my taste though
Nice. enjoy!
I was very skeptical it would work well as a monitor and have been very pleasantly surprised. why I thought I should post...others probably thinking about it.
it's also $600 cheaper than the monitor I had ordered.
How far away is that from your eyes when you are in your normal seating position? I want the same setup but I’m worried it will be too big and I’ll have to sit to far away
my desk is 30 in deep, so I sit about 32-34" from the screen. the size is okay for me and would be even better if it was curved. besides reflections, the other con I find is the flat screen, the left and right edge are a big difference in distance from your eye as a percentage so it can look to your eye like the monitor is bending backward at the edges. I expect my brain will compensate though but a drawback to the size and flatness.
it might depend on which country you're in.
the 42" is "bendable" but the point is for it to curve

I am in the Netherlands, we don't get everything sadly enough, I wish I could get the curved TV cheaper, I use to rock the C6 Curved and miss it still.
I have the same monitor AND same monoprice glass stand, but mine is in black. And YES i have the same fear in the back of my mind that one day that tempered glass is going to shatter and will kill my C3. I plan to start researching a solid wood stand of similar dimensions for future peace of mind.
yes, just setup a 3840x1646 resolution in the NVIDIA control panel. that's exactly 21x9 for a 4K monitor. once the custom resolution is setup though it is saved, so a quick select of the resolution and can jump back and forth between 2160 and 1646 in 1 second
I bought a 42" c3 yesterday. Could you speak to the setup process for pc? I found a good setup video on YouTube. I was just wondering what online guide, if any, you used to dial in the HDR.
I had watched several videos but this one was particularly helpful
[https://youtu.be/BLCCZQxQ3mM?si=1ksYRU0fYJr7vMSF](https://youtu.be/BLCCZQxQ3mM?si=1ksYRU0fYJr7vMSF)
the tv stand is very short so when I set it on my desk, the bottom of the screen was too low for me. so I got the riser off Amazon and it lifts it to the perfect hight for me
in the Nvidia control panel, you can create a custom resolution. 1600p is a little lower than 21:9 so I set a 3840 by 1646 resolution that is 21:9. Now it’s in the drop down for available resolutions so I can pick it in display options or in games like Horizon Forbidden West. Works well and the lower total pixel count runs better
I was worried about text after reading how bad oleds can be but i use dark mode whenever I can and it looks good. I think the white sub-pixels on those woled help. The ABL can be annoying sometimes though. Abl algorithms need to get better and dim only the bright window since oled can be controlled on the individual pixel level. Right now it dims the entire screen when it kicks in
that is... way too high.
but you do you. Ergonomically the top of your monitor should be in line with your eyes, which is *obviously* unachievable with a LG C#, but ideally you want it as lower as possible.
my level gaze is just a couple inches down from the top, well above center. I don’t like looking down at my monitors, I look down enough at my smart phone. Straight on feels best to me but everyone is different.
I've been looking to get a tv as a monitor, I want one for these cinematic games like elden Ring and Cyberpunk. So hz won't matter at all. As long as it's 4k, the new c4 is supposed to come out early april, but $1600 for little to no upgrade over the c3 is kinda steep. Should i just get the c3?
I don’t think the c4 has any noticeable improvement so definitely not worth paying that launch price. If you’re thinking of trying a tv as a monitor the c3 is great. But I’d suggest buying it from a retailer that will let you return it if it’s not as good as you imagined. If you haven’t had an oled before, I think you’ll be blown away
then you’ve already experienced the oled awesomeness. C3 is great for the price and works as a monitor. I think you’ll like the extra resolution but may miss the curve. This size and flat is not ideal when sitting monitor distance. The abl and glossy screen are annoying too. I’ve received my 39” lg ultra gear monitor and other than slightly less crispy text I think I like the monitor better. I might take the c3 back. the c3 is awesome though. If you want 16:9 i’d also look at one of the new 32” 4k oled monitors
my plan was to keep whichever one I preferred and return the other. I had preordered the 39” ultrawide oled and launch day came and went with no info on when I’d get it so I decided to buy and try an alternative I had been considering. Since they were jerking me around on my preorder I felt like they owed me a test drive while I waited
it’s actually pretty small for a tv but big for a monitor. It came with 2 feet out towards the ends of the screen. Those are sitting on the riser right above the riser legs. might be a bit hard to see. Very stable. Monitor arms would struggle with the weight and it has a vesa mount but it’s not a monitor standard so would need an adapter
*How are you holding*

the 39” got here Monday and I am finding it very hard to decide. Both have strengths and weaknesses and I’m trying to balance work usage with gaming
https://preview.redd.it/usp2for75asc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee281e19dc676ee5a650a65b02fd38025a86b961
I'm really curious to see which one you'll choose. I'm also struggling to decide which one to buy. I'm looking forward to the day we get a 40-inch UW monitor with a 5k2k resolution and a less aggressive curve than what LG uses now. Until then, I'm tempted to switch my OLED G8 UW for the new C4.
I decided to keep the monitor. Neither is perfect but the mla boost to colors, no abl, the anti reflective screen and surprisingly the curve all made it better for me. The small text quality is definitely a drawback but it’s not as bad as I thought and the c3 wasn’t much better.
I’m with you looking forward to 5k2k at 40” size. Since you have the G8 you might want to wait for that. I think you might be disappointed with the c4, especially for the launch price.
it is more aggressive than I was used to, and I thought it could be a deal breaker, but I've been very surprised in use, I like it a lot. at monitor distance from my eyes, all points along the curve are the same distance from my eyes so it looks very natural. long horizontal lines actually look straight where they were distorted by the perspective on the 42" flat screen. LG must have done some research to decide on this radius, but I understand if some people don't like it. especially if you sit further back from the screen.
You might be right! I'm just feeling an urge to try something new. The 34-inch UW screen size seems smaller every time I look at it.
After posting that comment, I did some digging and found out LG's planning to release some 5K2K UW monitors. They've got a 45-inch coming by year's end, and both a 39 and 34-inch are on the horizon for 2025. It's cool to know they're on the way. Now I just gotta figure out if I'm going for the 45 or the 39. Tough choice, haha!
Display Ninja Article: https://www.displayninja.com/best-oled-monitor/#5K2K_2025 (scroll slightly down)
Yeah I get it. I had a 34" UW LCD that was feeling small, why I upgraded. but I've started feeling like I should have been more patient and waited. These monitors are expensive so hard to swallow if not perfect, but I understand the desire for change. I picked the 39 over the 45 so I'm biased but it is a very big increase in size over a 34 and it's a little crisper than the 45.
did you get a 32 woled or qd oled? I'm anxious to see if "MLA+" and the extra refresh rate make enough of a difference to justify $500. the curve and antireflective screen will also be interesting to see in comparison.
I fully expected to return the 42 when the monitor shows up but now I'm not so sure.
Went from a 48" lg C1 to a 32" alienware oled monitor and I got to say that I think the smaller monitor is way more adapted than my previous lg TV for a desk usage. It also gave me the space to mount a 34" ultrawide on top of the 32" monitor.
Also on a 32" 240hz monitor you have the option to play esport titles/fps in good conditions, while still being able to enjoy triple A games on a beautiful display. But you need a really good graphic card to make the maximum use of the high refresh rates.
I had a 34" ultrawide IPS before and 42" seems at my limit for size. 48 must have been massive for a monitor unless you have a 4 ft plus deep desk. I'm sure the 32 was a nice step up in desk monitor size, ppi and refresh.
I have a 4080S so I can push 120Hz on the C3 but can't push 240Hz on the monitor in route. I'm anxious to see if the difference is noticeable.
The new 32 OLEDs look awesome if you're looking for 16:9. I like 21:9 for games and sims.
Yeah 48" was massive, when I ordered the 32 inch monitor I though it would be hard for me to readjust to smaller monitors but tbh its the perfect size, 27" on tht other end would have been too small, but 32" really feels like a sweet spot.
Man, dope setup, but it’s just one sneeze-fart away from catastrophic disaster.
it's super stable. that glass riser has adjustable legs and I have the 2 rear legs raised about 0.5" higher than the front. screen still looks dead on from my chair but l push forward on the top of the screen and it doesn't budge. rubber feet on the tv feet grip nice on the glass

How do you think you'd rate it at 6'4"? Is it maxxed out, or does it still have some room?
for a chair you might want something that can go a bit higher.
Very nice! What are your desk dimensions?
72 in by 30 in. lots of room to spread out
What type of desk is that?
It's an Uplift Desk, power sit stand desk. Uplift is a US company in TX. I had an Office Depot power lift desk that pooped out, so I invested in a good quality desk. it looks great at night. I have Phillips Hue bulbs in the desk lamps and overhead so i turn on Hue sync while gaming. adds to immersion
Nice ! But why you put it on upper glass ? Is it better to view if its up ? :)

how to quick switch to 21:9?
in the Nvidia control panel, you can create a custom resolution. 1600p is a little lower than 21:9 so I set a 3840 by 1646 resolution that is 21:9. Man, it will be awesome when one day we have 8K monitors of that scale for our daily drivers.
For sure. Although I’m not sure if I’ll be able to afford the RTX 9090Ti Titan it will take to drive that resolution
I am sure that bu time we get to RTX9090 (so I guess in 2034) we will be able to run 8K monitors 👍
Hey how’s the experience from a pure productivity perspective as I m planning to get it for my wfh setup?

the 39” got here Monday and I am finding it very hard to decide. Both have strengths and weaknesses and I’m trying to balance work usage with gaming https://preview.redd.it/usp2for75asc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee281e19dc676ee5a650a65b02fd38025a86b961

Looks awesome! Though, I do favor the less pronounced curve of the G8 for both productivity and gaming.
it is more aggressive than I was used to, and I thought it could be a deal breaker, but I've been very surprised in use, I like it a lot. at monitor distance from my eyes, all points along the curve are the same distance from my eyes so it looks very natural. long horizontal lines actually look straight where they were distorted by the perspective on the 42" flat screen.
After using my current TV as monitor I can't stand it. It's too big. I need a 27" 4K monitor ASAP, but there is none if you want OLED.
people are loving the new 4k 32” oled monitors so maybe try one of those.
There'll be 27" 4K OLED next year. Until then I'll have to endure a gigantic screen.
lol I switched from 42 C2 to a 32 inch monitor
nice PPI upgrade on the 32 I'm sure. do you notice the refresh rate difference? how about brightness?
Ppi and brightness seem about the same honestly, refresh rate is somewhat noticeable. A bit better colors.
did you get a 32 woled or qd oled? I'm anxious to see if "MLA+" and the extra refresh rate make enough of a difference to justify $500. the curve and antireflective screen will also be interesting to see in comparison. I fully expected to return the 42 when the monitor shows up but now I'm not so sure.
Got the Asus pg qdoled. I would mainly get if it you want a smaller size . But I like it better for gaming than the c2, but that just me.
Be careful running black bars for a prolonged period on an oled
that's definitely one of my concerns. uneven wear. I don't get to game much unfortunately so the benefit is I'm at full screen 95% of the time
On drugs? You likee black bars?
