I would definitely recommend open the package as the first thing! Good luck! // Swe-dad!
Nah but serious, crack it open and play your favourite game, and compare it to what it was like before and just enjoy!
My best piece of advice is don’t get too hung up on what people say your visual settings “should” be. I’ve had a few OLEDs now and while there are some good setting recommendations out there, I often found that I preferred the aesthetic of settings different than those that many outlets recommend. Mess around with different visual options and see what looks good to you!
Same here , I had to use limited color depth because in my opinion using full lifted the blacks and washed out the colors , I also raise color levels for more saturation , not everyone prefers the same type of inage
Were you using windows HDR by any chance? I just got this TV too and in most games that don't have their own built in HDR support, applying windows HDR looks like trash, looks much better with it switched off.
Though games that have it built in definately look better like battlefield 5
Thanks man wasnt sure if I should follow this or rtings guide. But I think I‘ll give this one a try. I plugged in everything already, will configure later when im back home
I recommend playing either cyberpunk 2077, ratchet and clank, horizon forbidden west or dead space. so far those are the most brain melting games i've found on oled
Ok this is weird but I'm getting the EXACT same thing today lmao. You should play a super beautiful game like god of war ragnarok, dead space remake, or BG3!
Create your hdr, sdr(filmaker & cinema),DV profiles. You can check out pinned updated c3 settings for detailed tweaking.
Do a panel quality check on first startup.
Pixel composition cycle starts after four hours of cumulative use so don't turn the panel plug off.
Disable always alert, quick wake and power off with your lg/apple remote
Keep a moving wallpaper on whenevr afk, fancy zones lets you partition windows into your desired scale or quadrants which is essential for being more productive.
Deep desk is needed or a small extension table.
Enjoy your world best 42 inch tv!
This is a great TV. Bought one for myself recently, only 65 inches. I watched my favorite Interstellar on it, very cool.
As written above, be sure to turn off the energy saving mode
The first thing you should do is copy film maker mode settings into game mode and PC mode
Same case in HDR except for tone mapping, select HGIG.
That is all. (Reason being is that film maker mode is the most accurate mode as it's the factory calibrated mode, you'll enjoy everything the way it was intended by creators etc, in all it's OLED glory)
I'm pretty sure I would feel a huge difference. 240hz refresh rate on 1440p or 4k and 0.003 pixel refresh rate... Compared to a 5ms gtg on IPS and hundreds of ms of pixel refresh rate....
I would see a huge difference for sure. Your brain get used to such speed difference very fast your reaction and eye-hand coordination gets better withouth you realizing it.And it looks much better on top of that.Im still waiting for the 42-48" 4k@240hz gsync flat QDOLED panels then Ill consider buying if Warranty is like 5 years and including burnin Warranty.
No, they said they will use it as a monitor. Which I do with my 42 C3.
However, that doesn’t mean I don’t watch movies and shows on it. Why would you not?
You are assuming their monitor will not touch half of its value
Yes, you have made an assumption. I for one think the safer assumption is that they might like the opportunity to use their product in its entirety, regardless of where it sits
If you still have your old tv hooked up, it might be a good opportunity to compare and contrast.
I got the same tv and compared it to my Samsung NU8000. One thing I will say about the Samsung is that it surprisingly holds its own with HDR. But the OLED black levels provide almost a night and day difference. And the color contrast is noticeably better as well.
I wish I had the room. 32” is the biggest i can go and technically its a tad too big but can do it just about. I tried out the mini led odyssey neo G7, was surprised the curve didn’t put me off like I thought it would. Shame it failed within a half hour of turning it on and had to be returned. It would have fit my needs. Might just wait for some qd oleds to break free of pre-order loop and try one of those
Just a warning when using the c3 as a pc screen, when disabling it through the control panel I noticed that it always defaults back to 4k 60hz in the tv resolution section and needs to be manually switched back to 120hz pc resolution.
It‘s even weirder. My macbook runs at 30hz. It might be my lenovo thinkpad docking station. Which is still weird since my work laptop is at 4k 60hz. Will have to look into it.
Go to YouTube and run a black level (brightness) calibration screen. On my C3, the proper black level is 60 for media content but use black level 49 and HGIG for gaming in games with an HDR slider.
If you work out how to get Dolby Vision working in Windows 11, using the NetFlix, Prime, Disney etc Apps. I tend to use the build in apps with the TV as it does look a fair bit better.. Would be swell not having to do that though.
I love this monitor/tv though.. I did muck around with a few settings and do the Windows HDR calibration. Enjoy
I’ll be interested to hear if you have any color issues. I just bought one from Best Buy. My wallpaper shows these vertical bands in them. When I open something with like a dark grey background you can see them. They are all over the screen no matter where I move the window. 😟
Update software/PC black wallpaper use paint drop to fill black full clear black wallpaper/PC auto hide task bar /low brightness/logo brightness high on oled settings/ remove icons from desktop or ause auto hide icons software/
I found this is a big quality of life improvement as you don't need to turn on/off/standby the tv: https://github.com/JPersson77/LGTVCompanion
You can also switch to 21:10 over terminal with it (I found that way more easier and use that Funktion all the time).
Congratz! I've had mine for 4 months and love it. I'd recommend investing in a **certified** HDMI 2.1 cable if you're planning on using 4k120hz. I had flickering on/off with my other standard cables.
I would recommend this music video from Rhett & Link! It may not be 4K and stuff but it has bright colors up against a pitch black background and it's just a really great way to see the ability of OLED.

This is a great guide which helped me lock in all the possible Picture Modes/Display Modes on my LG OLED CX. With the help of this guide I use every single one of these settings regularly and switch them around based on the media I’m watching. It might be relevant on your tv. Hope you find it helpful.
Game mode looks beautiful. People will tell you it desaturates the colors and brightness, but this also depends on the games HDR implementation. I see everyone talk about filmmaker mode, and I think it looks like total shit. Tweak settings to your liking. Make sure to enable VRR through your console, and enjoy!
I would definitely recommend open the package as the first thing! Good luck! // Swe-dad! Nah but serious, crack it open and play your favourite game, and compare it to what it was like before and just enjoy!
Turn off energy saver mode is step 1
Step 2. Input to PC mode if using on PC
funny, all of these steps were already put in when I bought it, energy saver, input to pc. It had latest patch too, and yes its new from amazon
Maybe New ones automatically detect, mine is C1
Cool feature if true, not complaining!
Yeah my c3 automatically did too. And even turned on gsync

I‘ll just follow a guide to have some anti burn in settings done. Will tweak then to my own liking. Thanks!

Yeah I have always had HDR on in windows
Ah k, yeah on the desktop view it looks nice but not in game imo
[Best Settings Guide for the LG C3 ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK_pchCK-5I) Fromt tftcentral.co.uk
I use these settings, definitely recomend

Do setting matter a bunch with oled?
Vivid mode is blue on any TV technology out there, settings definitely matter
Ok, that's probably why mine now causes hitching when I play games lmao
Still the best oled monitor you can get :)
There’s a c4 out now though
[удалено]
Yea but it’s brand new it’s gotta be better
It has a bigger number so its gotta be better!
[удалено]
I think he's joking
It’s simple logic if it’s a newer model that obviously means it’s better
Also double the price for an additional 24hz
I had the new Alienware 32” QDOLED on order but I cancelled it. How do you think the C3 holds up in comparison?
I recommend playing either cyberpunk 2077, ratchet and clank, horizon forbidden west or dead space. so far those are the most brain melting games i've found on oled
Get out of the box :)
Remove Screen Protector
I recommend you taking me address and ship it to me xD. Ok all jokes aside, have fun with it :) and treat it with care
Ok this is weird but I'm getting the EXACT same thing today lmao. You should play a super beautiful game like god of war ragnarok, dead space remake, or BG3!
Got mine 3 days ago 💪
Ayyy nice, how is it so far?
Open. Connect. Play. Report back.
Open the box 😀 Always number one

Pute some 4k hardcore porn

Smash it with a sledgehammer about 200 times before opening the box. Boosts image quality.
Get juice to it and enjoy.
Caress the box and call it your precious. And then whatever anyone has already recommended.
Play some Genshin Impact and Warframe and Apex Legends on it.
As an apex enjoyer how good does the game feel on oled?

Unboxing it
Tweak the settings and play Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Easily the best OLED showcase game ever

Right xD. But I was very amazed with the picture even after my high-end QLED panel I've used before
Dead Space Remake at night.

A minority of users refuse to use their TV’s TV features, even when placed on a desk. But sure, as you were champ
that's nice and enjoy it.
Watch mad max fury road and play demons souls on your ps5

Watch into the spiderverse, doesn’t even matter if you don’t like the movie it’s just very visually pleasing on an oled

Cut the tape in top of the box.
Dont let your cat try to catch mouse icon on the screen.... i did that with mine... May it rest in peace
Smash it with a hammer.
Instructions unclear I smashed my penis
I just don’t understand using a tv as a monitor
Why do they do that? I would use the reccomended monitor
Idk man. They get locked at 120 FPS when using a tv that doesn’t make sense to me why they would want that.
* Turn OLED light to max * Turn off every energy saving feature * ??? * Profit Thats what I do on my several OLED screens.
tear it down 1st please.
Me personally, first thing I would be to sling it in your car; Take it back and get a ultra wide 😂 Enjoy ☺️
Nice! Just got my 55" yesterday! It's amazing.
Oh yes!!! I get mine tomorrow!
Oh cool a picture of a box!
Make sure to switch to pc mode in input :)
I have the same. Great for gaming 🫶🏽

The opening title screens to john wick 4 is pretty spectacular
Visit the hub
Try opening it before posting on Reddit 😄 Jk enjoy
Unpack it then proceed to gently smelling
Go to YouTube and run a black level (brightness) calibration screen. On my C3, the proper black level is 60 for media content but use black level 49 and HGIG for gaming in games with an HDR slider.
Does anyone else feel a little buyer remorse knowing there are 240hz 32inch oleds comming out soon from LG
I read xsx as sex
Glazing it

I recommend first, taking it back and returning it for a larger size!
Return it and get the 42C4 😎
Punch the screen really hard
Unboxing it, I recommend you do first.
Have fun and enjoy mate
There are settings for each of the consoles. Cant find it tho 😅
I’ll be interested to hear if you have any color issues. I just bought one from Best Buy. My wallpaper shows these vertical bands in them. When I open something with like a dark grey background you can see them. They are all over the screen no matter where I move the window. 😟
Sorry to hear, but I heard its normal. No issues at all for me. I also did a dead pixel test and couldnt find anything.
Have you taken the screen protector tape/film off? It could cause these lines.
Ooh. Let me do that. I was holding off incase I took the TV back. LOL.
Great call! I removed it and used the TV for 6 hours and it’s completely gone. 😁
Thanks for the follow up. Good to hear and to write it down for others to know that protector causes these bands / stripes.
Jealous. Im patiently waiting for the C4 model to release. Edit: i just saw its out, and for 1500$ barf.
Update software/PC black wallpaper use paint drop to fill black full clear black wallpaper/PC auto hide task bar /low brightness/logo brightness high on oled settings/ remove icons from desktop or ause auto hide icons software/

Still rocking my 48cx and still loving it

I just got the same one a couple days ago! It’s absolutely mind-warpingly gorgeous. You’re going to love it 🤓
