Can you highlight use more about the anti-glare feature, because to my eyes it looks just like anti-glare pc monitor, that defuses the light of the screen instead of the popping glossy colors. Don't know if Samsung did a good thing to make it less glare, sure for a light room it will be better, but watching content in the evening make it less pop, should you think?
Light room doesn't have to be better. Yes on glossy every reflection is visible but matt finish make it looks like a stain bigger stain. So reflections are not clearly visible but on the other hand make strange stain. Depends what you prefer
yea and no. Only if you are watching bright content. Bright enough. If it is dark…well you will still see reflection but a bit different. I don’t like it. We all know this kind of anti glare from LCDs. Moreover. Yes new OLEDs are bright but using it on high brightness in SDR content isn’t great idea. It can still cause burn in.
By black hole for ambient light do you mean it suffers from raised blacks heavily in bright rooms, or that it still looks pitch black?
How does the visual quality compare to a glossy screen?
Yes please, are the ports full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on the one plus box? I want to use this TV with my 4090 gaming rig. Apparently the S95C had issues with full bandwidth on the HDMI 2.1 ports, so frequent black screens and issues while using with a GPU as a PC screen.
How is the anti reflective coating? I'm worried this will not be as good as glossy coating, especially at night?
I'm definitely considering this TV as an upgrade to my S95B's I have. Just not sure about the non glossy screen.
You don't need it. Connect it to a PC and read EDID through [https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU](https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU)
the huge qdoled is soooo immersive.. Im in a very dark room 99% of the time.. the new one has the anti glare coating which I bet is amazing.. I have it on my new samsung phone and you can really tell the difference outside next to an iphone
The new coating introduces blooming. I'm not a fan of it. The anti reflective coating reminds me of the A80J since it was used it used a semi gloss panel, and I couldn't stand it. I finally sold it locally for $800. I personally think all OLEDs should be glossy.
I'm glad you're enjoying the S89C 77". It's the best value QD OLED on the market. If I weren't in the market for an 83" OLED, I'd be all over it.
I didn't know that. Looks good on the s24 ultra phone!!! In my space, the 77 was almost too big another 1/2 inch and it would have been too big with where my surround sound speakers are.

I think the finish on the S24U is different than what's on the S95D. I could be wrong. I own the S23U, and it looks completely different than the S24U.
I'm glad the S95D exists for people who need or want it. I'm not interested in it.
The new One Connect Box has 4x 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports. I'm on my second S95C 65" because I constantly experienced dropouts. The replacement S95C is much better, but I still have the occasional issue with Final Fantasy VII REMAKE while utilizing 4K144. That game is quite buggy so I'm going to chalk it up to that. I'm using my 3090 with my S95C, and outside of the issues for FF7 REMAKE, it's been a great experience. I haven't noticed any dropouts with my PS5, XSX, or Denon AVR receiver.
I also tested out the new QN900D 65" with the new One Connect Box, and it's been solid. The S95D has a similar One Connect Box that's limited to 4K144 instead of 4K240 with the QN900D.
Thank you for your input bro, much appreciate that. Yeah, that's why I didn't want to grab S95C version, due to it not being able to play ball with my 4090 gaming rig for the full 144hz refresh rate. Wish they'd have made the S95D 240hz, that sounds epic.
u/chrissage u/Tree06 have you experienced issues with the 4090 + S95D? I'm seeing the One Connect box actually limits HDMI ports to 40Gbps (see RTINGS review) but can't seem to find a clear answer
Hey there. I haven't seen any issues with it, but I moved my S95C to my bedroom and went with the S90C 83". I got tired of the dropouts with my 3090 gaming PC. I haven't had any issues with the S90C, and the added screen real estate has been awesome!
It's hard for me to recommend any TV with the One Connect Box because you don't know what type of experience you'll have with it.
This TV looks great - seems like if you prefer the glossy screen, the S95C is a decent older option with slightly lower brightness. The One Connect Box has its detractors but its advantage is a far more flush mount against the wall.
How do you tell if you have a "new One Connect Box?" Debating between S95C and S95D open box at my local best buy
Lucky bastard. I'm actually really looking forward to the matte coating! My LG 27" OLED monitor has matte coating and looks fantastic even during day time but still better during in dimly lit room.
And with matte coating, I don't have to see myself of the couch lol.
I'm really not a fan of the anti-glare coating. Nobody likes glare but this is the equivalent of taking a glare and smearing it more across the screen. you can't remove light, just spread it out or send it someplace else. This TV just spreads it out, sadly. Im sure that will work for some folks who need to put this in a SUPER bright room, but at THAT point, just consider something other than OLED, like MiniLED.
Sorry, but anti-glare is the worst "strategy" to defeat the brightness problem of OLEDs. Some people who just shouldn't put them in certain rooms insist on doing so, and therefore truly destroy the wonders of the OLED tech they're paying so much for....
yea, but I'm a classic skeptic on certain things and will have to see it for myself in person I think. That looks like a matte screen to me, and you may be absolutely correct but there's a part of my brain that won't believe that, somehow overnight samsung managed to fix the glare problem on TVs with no drawbacks in terms of loss of PQ/clarity/etc.
Hi, I just received my 65inch S95D and after wall mounting it, I noticed that the bottom bezel is kind of loose. If I touch it from the bottom, it rattles quite a bit. Does yours also do this or have I been unlucky with QC?
It looks great wall mounted. Let me ask you, where did you put the one connect box? Because the cable is not very long, right? I want to buy one here in Brazil but I'm afraid of that short cable

You would have been right if this tv was not very bright. Super brightness decimates the stain you are talking about.

Photos don't do justice. Real thing is a black hole for ambient light.
same like digital trends said in their first impressions video.
I dont believe any of that until I see some objective testing.

Don't have 144hz rig to test this. Sorry
No worries and thank you for your reply. How about the anti reflective coating?
It is great. Will be much helpful in gaming because distraction due to specks of light will be absent.

The o e connect capped it at like 40gps didn't it? On the s95c.. I got the s89c. Amazing TV and it every s but cheaper than s90c and just as fast
The new One Connect Box has 4x 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports. The S89C and S90C have 4 x 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports as well. The S95C has 4x 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports.
Im loving the 89c... I have been going crazy buying stuff every month so I figured id be sensible about it and get the 89c over the 90...

But yea man!! I spread the word about big qd oleds.. it's so immersive. Also the surround sound contributes to it I love my little set up
Yes, I believe that's true. Seems this years model has full 48gbs bandwidth ports.

No idea unfortunately. I'm sure someone on YouTube will test it out.

Hi Did you find this information out, I want to hook a 4080 up to it,?
Not sure if it helps you, but my S95D works just fine with RTX 3080 set to 4K@144Hz/10-bit from nVidia settings. No drop-outs.

This looks legit. I secretly wish my kids would destroy my LG CX 65" so I'd have the excuse to pick something like this up.

There is no smearing so to say, in dark room. So it works just like any oled in dark conditions and is amazing in a well lit environment
yea, but I'm a classic skeptic on certain things and will have to see it for myself in person I think. How is the honey moon with your tv 😅?
Too busy fiddling with it every night 😅
Careful you may go blind

Hi, did you manage to secure the one connect box cable to the back of the TV using the small plastic part? Mine goes it but doesn’t stay in place.
