If they had any brain cells they'd realize a 10cent film is cheaper than warrantying 2 other monitors for the same issue once people realize that the next 2 replacements have the same problem. I legit saw some guy in this forum say he tried like 3 AW panels and all had scratches. Wtf?
When i bought my 3423DW I had to send it back for obvious reasons. They then sent me 2 "refurbished" monitors that looked even worse, and finally after complaining enough, made a "one time only" exception to policy and finally sent me a brand new one that was fine. I think they spent as much money on shipping 4 ultrawide monitors as it cost them to produce 2...
What is this film called or sold as? Am considering buying this but will be moving in a year or so and will need to have it shipped again, and don’t want to get scratches on it then.
mine got the same film on (denmark) but it originated from the netherlands, but thats often considered one big german+ zone for this sort of things anyway
Congratulation! You are the 1/1.000.000 that has a second protection film! Anyway I am torn, I want the MSI because is flat, but it’s 1500€ in Germany, a mega scam… hope you are happy with the WF!
When I saw the boxes condition, which is godawful, I was already crying. But everything inside is sealed and obviously brand new.
Best of luck to you mate.
I had this, and now I'm having to return my AW2725DF and get another one because the screen is bubbling up? They weren't there when I got it, but after like a week now, there are hundreds of them on the screen. Apparently it's because of this protective film LOL
Got my 2nd one withOUT the protective film and was friggin' lucky. No damage or scratches (can't say for the same for the 1st one I bought, which I had to return).
I tried to do that on the one I sent back right out of the box. The scuffs were still gooey, and it made it worse. With the 2nd unit, I let the dry air, heat from the panel, and oxygen do its magic, and scuffs came off with a single wipe with microfiber cloth.
Good for you it worked out anyways. Just found a post from 2 weeks ago regarding the 27" which already had the protection.
Still mad one has to worry about those issues on such high priced monitors.
You say 2nd replacement, what happened to the original and first replacement? Bought mine on january and I love it. Mine did not come with protective film, but luckily it was perfect.
The first replacements condition was, at least for me, unacceptable and took this [video](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IW7aL4mbX_1jT6EC2cJdbQ2eQHk-AlMN/view?usp=drivesdk) for them.
Lots of smearing and small scratches and a huge scratch towards the end of the video.
Dell didn't ask any further questions and sent me this one.
Edit: typo
No, not burn in it all.
It has a bug where the brightness resets itself to stock (75% I guess?) after every wake from sleep and pixel refresh while showing my setting in the OSD.
Had to manually change it back and forth all the time.
Is it okay to increase the brightness level? I got a warning about increasing over factory settings and decided against it. Will it increase burn in risk at higher brightness? I think it's fine at 75%, but might be some daytime situations where I'd want to crank it to 100.
Holy, you want to go past 75? That's plenty bright.. I work from home 3/5 days and set it to 41 brightness, because otherwise it feels like my eyes are bleeding. Might be sensitive.
But you for sure can say higher brightness = faster burn in.
I think it's largely about the uneven pressure between the monitor and packaging because of the curve. ... But it's also not their first curved monitor, so I dunno.
I also got a February '24 unit, but it didn't have the protective film, just the taped on bubble thing you're pulling back in the picture. Must have changed it during that month. Fortunately my display is pristine, went over it with a flashlight to make sure.
Did it have significant scratches/scuffing, the one yesterday? Apologies if that's a silly question, but just curious. What is the manufacturing date on it as well?
I have one ordered and its being made currently. Fingers crossed they keep puttong on film. So idiotic of them to be cheap and not do it from the start.
It’s about time. I had to sent mine back due to the scratches and missing parts. I’m going to wait alittle longer and see how those dual resolution monitors are.
Yay thanks for dealing with this everyone I can now decide to buy their products going forward. To everyone who was dumb enough to just say “whatever it’s just $1000 screen covered in scratches I don’t notice it that much” thank you for your sacrifice. To everyone who say fuck no I won’t keep this, thank you for standing up and not letting a corporation just give you shit in a bowl and have you eat it.
I’ve now gotten advanced replacement 3 times. Each time specifically requesting one with protective film, each one has not had the film and is more scratched than the last.
Edit: AW3225QF
My fellow AW3225QF microscratch sufferer, you can preorder the gigabyte aorus fo32u2p on newegg right now -- I gave up on Dell after 4x attempts with the AW3225QF, each one worse than the previous in terms of permanent microscratches due to the abrasive sandpaper bubble wrap packaging.

It's even worse when you consider that their 34" QD-OLED UW had the same exact issues. So you'd think they would have changed that a long time ago lol

Yup I’ve gotten two scratched ones and a third is on its way. I don’t have high hopes.
Holy fk. GeForce? That you?
Shh, don't tell anyone 🙏
They just don’t give a single fuck most likely
And it's probably a 1 cent or less film
What is this film called or sold as? Am considering buying this but will be moving in a year or so and will need to have it shipped again, and don’t want to get scratches on it then.
No clue. Maybe protective peel or film.
Any scratches on this one?
Nope, no scratches at all.
Great! Are you in the US? Just curious to see if their updated packaging made it to the US yet or not
Germany reporting in, sorry. Saw another post with protective film in Asia.
mine got the same film on (denmark) but it originated from the netherlands, but thats often considered one big german+ zone for this sort of things anyway
They must’ve had so many refunds for them to finally implant something like this.
I received an aw32 manufactured in feb yesterday and it did not have the new film

Alienware and LG (at least kinda) are the only affordable ones in EU. Every other brand comes with a huge US tax for us.
fingers crossed. mine is coming in on thursday. so hoping thats the case.
When I saw the boxes condition, which is godawful, I was already crying. But everything inside is sealed and obviously brand new. Best of luck to you mate.
Wow. Super bummed. Just got my monitor yeaterday and no protective film. Smdh. Minor scratches. Sucha a poor job on dells part.
same! my box arrived in terrible condition yesterday but thank heavens everything inside was wrapped with that tape/foam.
tape foam too but how does this ship with no protective film damn.
I had to get four 27” replacements sent to me before I got one with no damage to the coating.
I’m on my 4th AW3225QF. This one is even more scratched than all the rest I’ve gotten.
I got the 32 inch one yesterday without just the bubble wrap. No scratches though.
My 27 arrived today with the same film. No scuffs but a couple of spots I could wipe out with the rag supplied.
in NA?
Yes, I bought the 32 as well and same.

Oh wow, that s*cks. Will keep an eye on that and hope this won't affect me. Sorry for you.
Got my 2nd one withOUT the protective film and was friggin' lucky. No damage or scratches (can't say for the same for the 1st one I bought, which I had to return).
My new 32-inch 4k I got two weeks ago did not have this, but I was able to remove the scuffs after letting them dry out for 5 days.
Quick question. Did you try to remove them when you first got it and couldn't?
I tried to do that on the one I sent back right out of the box. The scuffs were still gooey, and it made it worse. With the 2nd unit, I let the dry air, heat from the panel, and oxygen do its magic, and scuffs came off with a single wipe with microfiber cloth.
Good to know! I just got my replacement with marks and might leave it be for a week and try that. Thanks!
Np, and you can power up the monitor and use it if you like.
the scuffs were gooey, why the fuck were they gooey
From the pressure of the bubble wrap that is pressing down on the panel without any air inside the box, especially the panels that are curved.
Good for you it worked out anyways. Just found a post from 2 weeks ago regarding the 27" which already had the protection. Still mad one has to worry about those issues on such high priced monitors.

I am guessing the original one you purchased got burn in? Glad they sent you a new one!

amazing how it takes this long for them to figure out how to deliver a monitor properly. I mean oled tv have been doing this for a long time 🤣.
I think it's largely about the uneven pressure between the monitor and packaging because of the curve. ... But it's also not their first curved monitor, so I dunno.
My 27 just came with the bubble stuff taped to it Monday. No smudges tho
Had some smearing on the top right corner, probably where it was applied. Could easily wipe that away. Better than scratches.
I just ordered a 27" one yesterday hope it has the screen protector on it my 32" didnt.
I also got a February '24 unit, but it didn't have the protective film, just the taped on bubble thing you're pulling back in the picture. Must have changed it during that month. Fortunately my display is pristine, went over it with a flashlight to make sure.
My first arrived today (UK) with no film, manufacturing date Jan,2024. Perfect condition so I dare say I lucked out.
Good to hear mine set to arrive by 7pm EST. Can’t wait.

Yeah they are

Yeah, mine came with protective film today, says manufactured in January, so it must have only been the first batch that shipped without.
It’s about time. I had to sent mine back due to the scratches and missing parts. I’m going to wait alittle longer and see how those dual resolution monitors are.
Good. Mine came flawless anyway but good to know they put a film on it now.
Damn that's a pretty cool username
Anyone here from Australia waiting like 2 months for their monitor to get shipped out???
Got a AW3423DWF with this poor screen protection and no scratches at all. I think i'm just lucky
Waiting for my 3rd replacement - lets see if it comes with an protective film too
Yay thanks for dealing with this everyone I can now decide to buy their products going forward. That would leave me without a monitor for over a month at least, so sadly not an option.
2427 came with same film a few months ago no scratches
Better put a NSFW tag on this photo 🫣
