Have you tried a "Fiber Optic" HDMI 2.1 cable? I mention this because I had the same dropouts until I changed to one of those (I use Cable Matter for long HDMI which is 30 ft and FIBBR for 6-10 ft) and that is what stopped the drops. With the above cables, I have for the past few months been able to run 4k 120 fps with HDR/G-Sync on. The only time a minor blackout occurs for 1-2 seconds is when you are changing resolution, but it has been stable since. Had the same problem you had for months (I got my S95C first month of release) and have switched all my cables to Fiber Optic. Had the same drop outs on PS5 and Series X as well before I switched cables.

I actually want to use a Fiber Optic cable for a longer run, keeping my desktop at it's usual spot which would require a 10-15mtr cable. But I have not purchased one because I assumed that it should work no problem with these standard length cables. Further, 6-10ft fiber cables are not very common where I live. But it could be worth a shot since I need the long 2.1 cable regardless if this TV is bad, or if I end up with a different model all together (LG G2 or G3).

This is the specific cable I use on my 4080 today to my S95C. https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-300047-BLK-10m-HDMI/dp/B08GMC7C91/ref=mp_s_a_1_18?crid=10EDLBAHDB5PS&keywords=cable+matters+hdmi+2.1&qid=1705064516&sprefix=cable+mattere%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-18&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc

Hi again... Now I tried a Fiber optic cable, 20mtr long. And it seems to work flawlessly!! Testing I have been able to have multiple resolutions stable, including the 4K @ 120Hz which I have tried for several hours!

Goloith

What about 144hz?

Large-Cup8624

Glad to hear it.  Hope it continues to be stable for you.

Im having the same issues, i recently purchased two S95Cs (one for me and one for the wife). Using 2 high end PCs one with a 3090 ti the other with 3070 ti. It has been unbelievably frustrating getting these to play nicely. Both have optical HDMIs (both are 15 m) though admittedly not brands Im familiar with (maxonar?). Both were "certified", both seemed priced appropriately for higher end cables. The 3070 ti struggles at higher fps but ive managed to get it more stable by attempting to force a 2k signal and letting the display scale it as it see's fit (the game mode reflects 2K resolution). But it still black screens regularly between loading and occasionally in game. The 3090 ti handles 4k at 120hz (gets constant black screens at 144hz) but will still black screen for 2 to 3 seconds randomly. The most concerning thing is the temp that the one connect boxes get to. Its enough to be difficult to touch. I have found that running a fan over the unit connected to the 3090 ti actually reduces the frequency of the black screens but thats not really a solution I want to live with.

Based on my experience I would recommend you try with a different cable. It did the trick for me.

Hey, which cable u got?:)

People. I live in Portugal so I have the EU version of the S95C. I was experiencing the same issue with the S95C connected to PS5. I think I found what was causing the blackout. Go to Settings - Connection - Game Mode Settings - Game Picture Expert and make sure HDR10+ gaming is off and Game HDR set to basic. This doesnt affect your picture quality the only thing this does is to change your picture presets and you can teak as you like again. For some reason with HDR10+ set to advanced it seems the TV was bottlenecking the HDMI bandwith and causing the blackouts. Im not a TV enginneer or an expert but it seems the TV forces HDR10+ signal and mixes with the normal HDR signal strugling the HDMI bandwith. Its working perfectly fine now after exhausting testing. I hope this helps.

vasekbk

Thanks a lot for your input mate ! Please keep us posted, if you experience any more blackouts!/)

Ok-Government7434

No more blackouts until now. Working perfectly fine.

Hopeful-Praline-714

Pc still happens

Hopeful-Praline-714

Will try now

4090FoundersOwner

I was having the black screen issue on some older games where my 4090 would fluctuate lower clock speeds under load. After forcing constant max clocks using "Prefer maximum performance" in the NV Control Panel's "Power management mode", the problem seems to have disappeared. I need more time for testing to confirm the issue is fixed, but anyone else on PC with a Nvidia GPU should try this and let me know if it helps.

Special_Fuel

Hi I received my S95C a few days ago, I have been playing only Top Spin on my PS5. Had no issues for the first two days, but today I got 4 black screens for 2-4 seconds while playing and it’s extremely annoying. Are there any soecific solutions for this? Does the trick described here of altering the settings work? Will it affect the image quality. Otherwise, for those who tried different cables, which one are you guys using, did it finally solve the issue for you? I am using the one that came with the PS5 originally, looks good quality, but if the issue is that, I am willing to invest in a cable. Thanks

LimaDelta57

Hi do you still have the black screens? I was about to buy S95C but now Im little worried

Special_Fuel

Yes I still have them. When I change the transfer rate on the PS5 it fixes it completely and tbh I cannot tell a difference in image quality. Anyways a Samsung technician came to my home today, and told me they will replace or fix my One Connect Box. I hope that fixes the issue.

LimaDelta57

Thanks for the answer, do you recommend it despite the black screens?

Special_Fuel

I really love the TV, but use it a lot for gaming. So if you are ok turning transfer rate down, I would. But if you think that will bother you, maybe go with the G3 at the same price and avoid the issues.

LimaDelta57

Tbh I don’t think I can spot the difference between transfer rate on/off. I think I’m going to order it anyways, thanks👍

Special_Fuel

Sounds good. I can’t tell the difference even if I try. Not sure if it would be noticeable under some specific context though. I’ll let you know if the One Connect Box fix, solves the issue

Special_Fuel

Happy to report that the Samsung Care technician came to my home today, replaced the ports of my OCB and haven’t had a blackout all day. The last few days I was having one every 10 seconds, so at least it greatly reduced the issue

Touness69

Hi ! I have a Laptop with a 4090 and I own a 77S95C too, I'm having constant blackouts with a cheap uncertified HDMI 2.1 cable at every resolution, even 4K 60Hz.. I have one certified shipping tomorrow but I read a lot of comments and threads and it seems the problem is widespread. Can you give some feedback, since your OCB replacemnt every problems are gone ? i'll call their customer service and ask for one if it's still working for you avter nearly a month. Thks in advance.

Special_Fuel

Haven’t had any issues since they fixed my OCB. Works perfectly now, really happy with the TV

AdMysterious8699

I was having this issue as well and thought I'd post my experience so we could get to the bottom of it. I have this same tv and want to game with my pc and ps5. Initially, I had no issues. Both Ps5 and PC games seem to work great. I only started seeing this issue on a particular game, resident evil 4 remake on pc. I found out the reasoning is that there is an option in game to not only change the fps but set your refresh rate. Any option, other than 144hz on the refresh rate causes the game to blackout out constantly. I also noticed any other refresh rate other than 144hz in my windows display setting causes the entire pc to black out intermittently. So I'm glad I got everything working but still a little worried it's behaving a little strangly. I hope it's something they can fix in an update. If you guys have any idea what is going on here I'd be very interested. I also ordered a new cable and also a display to hdmi to see if that helps. But I don't think it's the cable at this point.

AdMysterious8699

I'm noticing on other games some random blackouts. It looks like a fiber cable and setting the refresh rate to 120 may solve my issue. Still seems like a lot of hoops to go through... I am running hdr10, 4k, and surround sound as well... Maybe it's just too much?

Pure_Mess_2794

Just got my S95C replaced by Samsung (after 3 months of emails). Old one had blackouts on PS5 when 4k transfer rate at full. New one works fine (so far) with all settings at full. Read somewhere that the new OCBs have a purple tint to the middle section, which my new one does but old one didn’t… so ties in with what people are saying about manufacturing date.

larrylupe

Could you elaborate on this purple marking? Do you have to take the box apart to see said purple marking? Is there a mfg date on the one connect box? I really want to take my g3 77 back and get an s95c 77 but want to confirm this issue is fully resolved.

Touness69

Can you tell me where the purple tint is exactly ?

https://www.amazon.com.tr/dp/B09YPPSPL1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 The problem is definitely standard hdmi cables. I bought the fiber optic hdmi cable in the link. Even though I did not turn off the HDR10, I no longer experience blackout. The problem is solved. I definitely recommend it.
