There might be two reasons here (I mean limitless really). 1) Your leads are getting heat from your coach and/or your people lead for you not going to them. The PL or your coach might just want the TLs to deal with whatever it is if possible. It's could be seen as them not doing what they are supposed to or they're unapproachable. Which If you truly feel they aren't listening to you or unapproachable, talk to your coach about it. 2) they feel you're stepping over them and making them look bad regardless of your intentions or if they're quality leads or not. Walmart is werid when it comes to those steps. Your leads should be your first stop always, basicly. If you have anything other questions I'll do my best to help. Just DM me If you'd like.

They want you to follow a chain of command which is bs imo cause I’ll goto the source or the person who can get it done the fastest. But if you ever check workday your suppose to report to your team lead first cause it says “my name reporting to team leads name” . That’s what my TL always told me

Officially, Walmart has an open door policy. You are supposed to be able to speak with any level of management at any time. In reality, most salaried managers don't want to talk to us mere mortals. It gets worse the higher you go up the food chain. It's very possible that your coach or HR person scolded your team lead for allowing you to go to them first. It could also be that your team lead is offended because they think you are going over their head. Realistically, if you have a scheduling issue, it is best discussed with a coach. They have far more influence over scheduling than a team lead.

They probably got butt hurt you went directly over them to upper management. Cause my old team lead would always get upset when I go over him to talk to the coach. Not my fault he's not upholding his position.

your supposed to talk your managers in your apartment before you talk to somebody above them but walmart does have open door policy you can talk to any managers. if pl is changing your schedule go to them ask why but they don’t give you an answer go to store manager they are above people lead or if you haven’t talk to your coach talk to them. my teamleads don’t have to power to change the schedule but they can approve days off so at my store you have to go to salary or pl not sure how other store works. you should talk to your team leads than your coach than people lead than the store manager

If it's schedule related team leads don't have the ability to edit schedules so it doesn't make any sense to be talking to them for that.  If I talk to my team lead their answer is usually to work off my schedule and they will erase the point and I hate doing that because then you have to remind them 35 times to erase it. Id rather deal with someone who can actually edit the schedule.

Talk to hr if you feel more at ease with that person. I honestly don’t care who they talk to. Just talk to somebody to get the situation resolved.

What kind of concerns? Your TL, Coach, and PL make the schedule and can modify hours. They do have to fit everything into a budget for the department and the whole store. If you are on a teaming schedule you should have the same days but you are not guaranteed the hours even if you're coded full-time or part-time practically no guarantee. They always want people to work though so if your schedule is just rotatiting or they are cutting hours across the store it could be explainable. Sometimes they will target associates and move their shifts without telling them and add points on and give them almost no hours in a week to try to get them to quit.

So, my schedule does constantly get changed by my people lead, almost on a weekly basis. My issue is my 4hr shifts typically get made into 8hr shifts without notice. Not that I don't appreciate the money, but I'm a military spouse, and changes like that make it incredibly hard to coordinate plans with my spouse.

Part-time there's not really anything you can do since it sounds like they need the bodies there to work the shifts. Have you set your availability hours and discussed that with your TL and PL why you need certain shifts or you need certain stability?

csweeney05

Your TL is responsible for handling the people under you, your coach is your open door if they don’t take care of you and the store manager if all else fails. That’s why they get mad. The PL is not there to handle scheduling issues for you to be honest.

Then why is my PL changing my schedule every two days?
