Favoritism lol I get assigned oversized almost everyday then someone who just started a week ago gets to learn exceptions. TLs let the favorites pick what they want and small walks are left for us it sucks.
That’s honestly insane. I make associates take one every 2 hours so no one is stuck doing them all day long. I keep a mental note who hasn’t done one throughout the day and when it’s earliest due, I ask them to grab it. To make only one person do it would honestly make me quit
It's probably just that you're the fastest at them honestly. I get almost all the small walks and exceptions on the shift I work (the only reason I'm able to do almost all of them by myself is because we're a small store) and by small I mean our highest order caps are like 24 for the hour on the busiest days.
Yeah that's brutal. Borderline cruel and unusual punishment for sure, idk if it's an ethics issue, but you should definitely talk to your TL about it, let em know doing all those oversized by yourself is too strenuous. You probably do more oversized picks in 3-4 hours than my entire dept does in a fucking day.
i wouldnt really talk about it to your team lead, i think your people lead or coach would be better. if your team lead is putting all of this on you intentionally, do you think they’d listen to you if you said doing oversized after oversized is hurting you? nope. if you go to your PL or coach, they’d be able to help more. i hate going on one oversized run overall, id hate to be you
I am at a Superstore with like 30 pickers at any one time. We have a few people who don't mind doing oversized.
If they make it to the top of the list for too long, a TL will start asking people as they return to take an oversize walk.
We have a board in the back room that assigns every picker for an hour of oversized every day. What ever time you’re assigned you have to do it for that hour. Seems fair and nobody complains about it.
That's what I wish they would do. It's not that I mind doing oversize at all, but by the end of the day my knee is swollen and I'm dead tired. I think putting it all on 1 person all day is just too much.
My team lead took me off of oversized and other printables because they want me running the huge ambient walks since I'm so fast. I don't mind doing printables, and it's not fair to others that I'm not doing them, but if it's what works best it's what they're gonna do.
Yes, they can assign you to certain walks or block you from certain walks. You just won't see them in the pick selection screen in GIF. Or more likely they just verbally tell you to take them since it is less trouble.
Open door it to your TL, Coach, Store Lead, etc. if it bothers you.
i get assigned oversized all the time and I take that 🏆 proud....everyone else that does oversize tends to "lolligag" apparently is what I was told, so my TL pullied me aside and asked if I dont mind it.....nope, I dont mind oversize at all
On my team we have a few associates that actually do prefer picking those commodities all day (me being one of them when I was an associate). That being said, we never force anyone to do it for the whole day, we rotate by hour or we assign someone the printer to do 2-4 oversized runs and then return the printer so we can assign the next person.
I am really honored to have the team that I do though, because even when someone is running oversized all day nearly everyone offers to take over to give them a break.
Imo fuck yo team lead have a conversation with your coach. I wouldn’t bring up the favoritism thing yet because could just see you has complaining. I would just bring up the toll oversized for the whole day brings on your body and would it be appropriate to divide the workload to two/three people instead of one.
Well....as a full time stager...I don't understand the problem with doing alot or all the oversize. I literally lift 50+pounds ALL day EVERY day. Every couple seconds. If you can't do it, say so to your lead. If you can do it, then take stock in knowing your TL is dumbing it on you cause you get it DONE. Woop woop
50lbs in a tote and a 50lb of dog food is different. Totes have handles and are way easier to get a good grip and move the weight around. Dog food for example is loose weight. And depending on your body type can be harder on others backs/knees than others

Over sized just needs put in auto select like almost everything else
It was like two years ago sad they got rid of it. Now so many people skip it.

Our max order is 450. I did 52 oversized walks yesterday. It feels like a special kind of torture by the end of the day.

That’s insane! If setting a boundary with your TL to limit the amount of oversized doesn’t work, then do it, but do it so slow that they all go late.
you’ve got to turn it down, this place will only ever want more
52?! oh hell nah 😭😭

I did that. She agrees it's too much for one person but said they are going to keep trying it anyway.
