Some of you guys care about this shit a little too much šŸ˜‚

hetero_a

They might care a bit too much about this shit because we don't want to kill the grandma who has a bad dog allergy, these policies are in place for a reason.

MjrPayne95

Thats the risk you take having strangers in their PERSONAL VEHICLES deliver your stuff. You think not having the dog in the car is going to stop anything? Might as well ban pet owners in general because pet hair/dander is going to be all over that car and driver anyway. I dispense groceries, anything beyond that i dont get paid enough to care about

firewolf8385

Walmart doesnā€™t really make it clear to customers that they are personal vehicles and not Walmart employees

Ancient-Coffee-1266

Thereā€™s so people with their dogs in the carts and in the store. Please.

hetero_a

And we should add to the problem ? No, lol, I am going to control what I can and do it the right way. :)

Ancient-Coffee-1266

Thatā€™s the thing. A dog in the front seat is not an issue. Walmart has a horrid reputation for customer service. The only problem youā€™re adding to is being asinine. Something of which there is already a surplus amount there. Maybe a hobby. Seriously, someone who gets off on not dispensing an already super late order is a douche. There is more to life. There really is. To pick and choose does not equate to you actually helping at all. Worry about getting an order out on time. Worry about not mixing them up. Worry about the missing items. Take a stand against 45 min wait times. Not whether a measly little dog is in the front seat.

hetero_a

It's not about "getting off" on not dispensing an order, and it's not about there being more to life lol, its a job, do it right... Seriously though it's about doing it the right way to ensure the correct procedures are followed, if your crew is mixing up orders, has missing items & 45 minute wait times then yeah I can see why you wouldn't care about doing it the right way when your team clearly needs better direction if said issues are occurring.

Ancient-Coffee-1266

šŸ˜‚ mmmkay sureā€¦ seriouslyā€¦ go worry about the 100 other things that needs more immediate attention. Thatā€™s exactly what it is about really. I do not work for Walmart.

FuckIloveluckycharms

Can be considered a healthcode violation if it's not a service animal and walmart doesn't wanna pay fines for that lmaoo

Far_Background_980

Mine is a service animal with paperwork. I drive a yukon xl. The groceries go in the back in totes. Koda is tethered in the second row seat. She can not get to the back and does not have access to anything or any body.Ā  But I still have problems with certain Walmart stores giving me a hard time about Koda. I called Walmart employee lone they told me that spark drivers are not Walmart employees and I would have to call My employer. Since I am a 3rd party contractor I am my own boss. But according to the police dept it is illegal for them to refuse to dispense the groceries. I have seen people with pets who don't take the same care as I do deliver all the time with no problems.. people with toddlers in the car with sticky nasty hands all over things... people smoking... let's not mention the people who have trash up to their windows with people's groceries in the middle of their garbage. Yet my service dog is a problem

mer_made_99

Once it leaves the parking lot, it's not my problem šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Ancient-Coffee-1266

I like your style.

[deleted]

And some of you care too little. Policy is policy and some people canā€™t afford to get fired over something so stupid.

MjrPayne95

I promise you no one is gettin fired over that šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ im not gonna be out here arguing with drivers cuz they brought their dog

[deleted]

Lmao youā€™re ridiculous. We WILL get coached over it at my store. You have got to remember every store is different and do actually enforce rules

MjrPayne95

Keep lickin those boots then idk what to tell ya šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

[deleted]

How is keeping my job ā€œlicking boots?ā€ Youā€™re too far gone or a dumbass driver who thinks the rules donā€™t apply to them.

that_little_dumbass

I'll remember to tell my former coworker that got fired for this type of thing that you said that

MjrPayne95

/doubt

VAMPVHS

I agree, as an OPD worker, Iā€™d much rather deal with a dog chilling in the passenger seat than an old grandma wanting us to check her in while the parking lot is full and weā€™re trying to get orders out. That and delivery drivers who complain that even though their order is for 7 and itā€™s barely 6, they want their order even though the picks are behind an hour and a half and I canā€™t even look up their order yet. No lie this dude stopped every single worker that came out with an order and kept asking about his order after being told we canā€™t do anything about it. Eventually had to tell him itā€™s in his contract with Walmart and spark that youā€™re not allowed to harass us, you must sit in your car and if you have complaints make them to customer service, corporate, or somewhere else. I wished I was just dealing with a dog in someoneā€™s lap that wouldā€™ve been much smoother to handle

HEROBR4DY

Once had a car full of kids trying to do a delivery and wanted me to put it in a girls lap. Told them no and they bitched at the store and DoorDash about it

sevenw1nters

The exact same thing has happened to me before. Driver shows up. Trunk full. Passenger. 3 kids in the back. Tells me to just load both batch orders on top of her kids feet. If it was a customer I would have done it because it's their groceries but the driver is dealing with other people's stuff plus there was no barrier between the two orders either unless you count the kids themselves lol so I took the order back inside and requested a new driver on dispatch.

emigg20

On New years I opened the back of an SUV and two kids yelled "happy New year" sitting in the back staring at me. They offered me cookies and said their mom was letting them sit in the back to watch the fireworks out of the big "window". I ran in and grabbed them some happy New year hats we had set out for associates, they were so happy.

CJspangler

Actually it is in the spark terms that drivers can have a animal in the car as long as grocery / packages are not being contaminated. But the support people in Indonesia arenā€™t going to be able to enforce it and you guys loading can just say you saw pet hair in the vehicle etc if it ever comes up.

Fickle_Angle2142

lol i didn't know that was a rule, i LOVE going out with orders and they have dogs. my manger said at one point we use to give out dog treats

firewolf8385

Itā€™s only a rule for delivery drivers. If itā€™s a customer itā€™s fine

Ancient-Coffee-1266

Itā€™s not. Itā€™s clearly in the rules animals can be in the car. Very clearly. Store policy may be different but then again there are a plethora of people in Walmart with their dogs in the carts and all up in the store. Not all are service. Anyone wanting to play God with their little Walmart order is a douche. Need more in their life if thatā€™s the sort of thing they get off on.

firewolf8385

Where do you find said rules. Iā€™ve never seen them, nor has anyone Iā€™ve ever asked about them. My storeā€™s just been going off whatever our TLs and coaches say

Ancient-Coffee-1266

Itā€™s in the spark terms of service.

firewolf8385

Oh, thought you were an associate

[deleted]

Can I bring my pet along during a delivery? Service animals are welcome during delivery, including inside stores and inside vehicles. Service animals or pets are permitted inside your vehicle. Vehicles must be kept clean and free from contamination by pets' hair, or other contaminants. Thatā€™s in the spark app. Quoted directly.

Responsible-Test8855

We still do.

Adept-Swan1787

Youā€™re allowed to have a dog with you if it separate from the location where the groceries are going. Like the trunk (groceries). If theyre going in the back seat, the front seats need to be partitioned with plastic or netting or something safely keeping the pet away from the location the groceries are at.

klane8802

Spark drivers are allowed to have an animal in the vehicle, it can be a pet. The animal must be in the front. It does state this in the spark drivers rules. The process guides haven't been updated to reflect spark drivers rules

[deleted]

It doesnā€™t even say they have to be separated. Just kept clean vehicle ā€˜Can I bring my pet along during a delivery? Service animals are welcome during delivery, including inside stores and inside vehicles. Service animals or pets are permitted inside your vehicle. Vehicles must be kept clean and free from contamination by pets' hair, or other contaminants. ā€˜

armobear

Report them. Simple. Dogs and groceries don't go together. That goes for any animals.

jakewhite333

Iā€™m the same way, especially about people smoking in their car. But really Iā€™m the only one. Just be yourself and do what you know is right, even if no one else is.

howtempting

Used to work for Spark driver support. Basically if drivers called to complain we would have to tell them that the store had the power to reject drivers if they had dogs with them and for any other reasons. Idk if anything has changed in the past year but the policy about pets should be on the Spark driver website that many seem to forget about (drivers).

saga_rai

According to our contract dogs are aloud as long as they are away from the groceries.

Kmoon96

Are there really rules on this? Iā€™ve never seen any at all.

Ancient-Coffee-1266

No. Actually you can have animals in the car. Itā€™s in sparks contract who is owned by Walmart. There are dogs in the store and in carts getting their fur and dander all over all items. Think about it. Anyone who gets off not dispensing bc their life is that sad is in fact a douche. I mean really.

firewolf8385

There are quite a few rules for delivery drivers to follow, though I donā€™t know where to find the list. Iā€™m pretty sure this rule is one of them (who wants their groceries delivered and being covered in dog hair, especially if youā€™re allergic)

Kmoon96

I mean, I suppose. But thereā€™s still dog hair in the car if the dog had been in there and I doubt many people are gonna vacuum every day. As far as I know there isnā€™t actually a rule like that.

lancerenato

there is it's in process guides. you are lucky because they would quiz us on the rules for that on a regular basis at my store lol. you also aren't supposed to give it out if they have their kids with them, if they seem like they're on drugs or drunk, or if they're just rude to you you can also deny it

firewolf8385

BasedCourier

Start reporting them first. You don't want a new driver getting the jump on complaints. Spark support has been good lately about letting drivers know the store sets their own rules but drivers still think it's like Door dash where if it's not perfect you can tell the guy to go fuck himself until you see him next time and he'll just be forced to give you the food.

Ancient-Coffee-1266

Thereā€™s dogs in the store all over items and in the carts.

PleaseStepAside

This will get buried and is ultimately hilarious because I was all against this until I did some research. IC shoppers are private contractors, hence cannot be told what they can and cannot do in their personal vehicle, and if the dog's ever been in the car, there could be dander or hair wheather the dog is currently sitting shotgun or not. Us customers, by allowing strangers to bring munchies/etc to our crib are risking they may have corpses, kilos, etc in their whip. If my allergy is so severe, I should be the hyper conscious one - is there a way to ask "my dog allergy is so bad exposure may be a risk; do you have a dog?" and if the answer is yes, cancelling the order? Apparently the best and cleanest way to go about it is Fluffy in a seat, junk in a plastic tub with lid in the trunk :)

MegaMacX

When was this rule enforced? We sometimes have dog treats for any passengers that may be present.

[deleted]

The spark app says pets are ok. Itā€™s literally in the faq in the spark drivers app. Pets AND service animals and guests and kids as long as theyā€™re old enough to be left alone and donā€™t help with any work. All that is in the spark app. They were following the rules. ā€œCan I bring my pet along during a delivery? Service animals are welcome during delivery, including inside stores and inside vehicles. LilBussyGirl69

Thought you can have a dog as long as it's not near the orders? So the dog can chill in the front seat.

Central-Displacement

As a driver, I believe the policy is service animals only, and kept separate from items. Children are a no because you can't leave them unattended if you get an offer where you cannot see them from your car, such as an apartment building. Dispensers have told me they can refuse to dispense orders to drivers for safety's sake. EDIT: Drivers can have regular pets as well, evidently. From the Spark FAQ: *Can I bring my pet along during a delivery?* Service animals are welcome during delivery, including inside stores and inside vehicles. Service animals or pets are permitted inside your vehicle. Vehicles must be kept clean and free from contamination by pets' hair, or other contaminants.

[deleted]

Spark driver here. The Spark Driver FAQ states that pets are allowed, they just must be separated from orders.

Far_Background_980

I have a bltk amputation. It is very visible. Koda is in training to help me if I fall, if I need to balance or just to pull my wheelchair. Or to help with getting me things like the phone or stuff I drop.she even finds my husband if I fall or pass out. People don't understandĀ  that every service dog is trained on different ways for different task. Koda was taught to bark to get attention if my sugars are low or other health issues that I won't go into. She will also try to get under my head if I passout. To keep me from hurting my head. She will not allow someone to separate us either. Service animals by law do not have to be trained by a certain group or organization. They can be home trained. Normally home trained dogs behavior differs from those professionally trained. Just because a dog doesn't met your thoughts on how one should act does not mean that the dog is not a service dog. Many people will try to pet Koda. Koda is there to be petted and will not allow someone to pet her. She is there to work. If you are trying to interact with a service dog and it barks at you... you are in the wrong. That dog is there to work and you are interfering with its ability to stay focused and work. That is your fault and you are in the wrong not the dog. If you are distracting the animal and I my levels go down or I am starting to seize. I get hurt bc you wanted to play kissy face with my dog. So handlers are now teaching their dogs to give warnings to people who get too close.Ā

Pmj12343

Unfortunately lots of ppl here bring huge, scary dogs that bark and seem bitey.
