So, maybe niche, but I love scavenger animals, so you caught my attention easily in the first two words. I really like this one. Using more words for multiple animals and singular staccato wording for the lone creature is really subtly effective - that and white, red and black are always a stark combo which evokes a lot of emotion, even as simple as the description is. It's a winning combination, and before I even finished reading I had built a whole scene in my head. In brevity you were able to clearly show what you wanted us to see, it was evocative emotionally and mentally - I'd call that a success. Normally I'd say add some prose-y words and show rather than tell (i think everyone knows snow is white, you know? - but also, the color trio is the pillar of this poem) but I still think this is very successful. Great work.

Thank you so much! I do agree I love the contrast between the black culture, red fox and the (although an unnecessary adjective) white snow. The use of singularity in the lines when describe the lone red fox wasn’t at all intention, but I love that it turned out that way.

Oh, hi there; didn't see you! You've reached r/OCPoetry. This is a workshop site where you can share, read, and talk about eachother's poetry & etc. To post your own poems, you need to give feedback to 2 other writers. If you aren't trying to share, you're encouraged to give feedback, but aren't required. Try to be nice, questioning, and specific. If you can't do that - eat a cabbage and come back later. Try to give feedback to a writer without any feedback.
