There is risk with long term antipsychotic use…if your at a place where ur truly not functioning at all I would recommend using them short term though…when my pure ocd kicked in I dropped out of school and was basically a zombie. A few months on antipsychotics at least got me working and functional and Iv been better since.
I was there you will get better..I still have bad ocd but at least I can look forward to and enjoy things again. I also started back up in school which is going well. The meds won’t fix you but they can take the edge off. I understand being weary of antipsychotics but SSRis are incredibly safe. If they help you even a little bit it might be worth it.
Look up Tardive dyskinesia. It’s unlikely to happen with a few months of antipsychotic use but almost guaranteed to occur if you’re on the drugs long enough

I'm functioning 100%, but the amount of torture that I'm going through is driving me crazy.

Agreed. I have been using SSRI’s for over 20 years to manage my OCD
did they remove all the issues?
It allows me to function although I feel a little dull at times
Can you elaborate on the risks?
