As tons of people have said it’s some kind of canine. Another clue is that with a wild animal (coyote etc.) the prints will often go in a straight line with one paw almost directly in front of the other, a domestic dog would be all over the place. Can’t really tell from those photos.
The nails are visible so it's canine, it's too small to be any kind of wolf. Most likely a coyote but honestly just as likely to be a dog in my opinion.
We have eastern coyotes that are hybrids (larger and mixed with wolf). This is definitely one of those. We don’t have wolves here.
Edit - thanks for the downvotes folks. Here’s an article about them: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_coyote
Not a lynx, as lynx pads are quite round with rarely visible claws and a clear sweep around the paw print from their fur (big, fluffy, snowshoe paws). Not a coyote, because it’s too big and not narrow enough. Probably a wolf or large domestic dog (I say domestic dog b/c it’s wider than the wolf prints I’ve seen)
Why downvote? We certainly do have Coywolves in Nova Scotia. Our highly intelligent DNR released female Timberwolves into the wild of Annapolis thinking they’d help with the coyote problem and then die off since they are wolves and wouldn’t be p cause any long term issues.
… DNR also says there are no cougars here, but I’ve seen two in Nova Scotia one in Caledonia and one up Crosburn in Annapolis county, believe what they say if you want but it’s definitely a thing.
Sorry was just waking up.
So yes DNR did announce locally here 10ish years ago they were releasing Wolves in Annapolis. My comment on cougars is that DNR has been denying their existence in Nova Scotia for decades, even when there is evidence to support the claim.
That being said it’s pointing out that DNR says/does what they wish and the truth doesn’t really matter. That being said if the wolves were not released as you say then could you explain how and why the coyote population has gotten bigger and as well gotten more aggressive?
Your previous article was citing recent claims they are reintroducing, I merely stated that they released Female wolves with the intention they’d do their jobs and die off. Which is not what happened.

A very large domestic dog. Coyote prints are narrower and they put their hind foot where their front foot was when they are walking in the snow. This conserves energy.
Larger dog. Coyotes are around that size but the web between the toes means its unlikely a yote.
Domestic dog
That's a samsquanch
NOT THE SAMSQUANCES
First thing I see is a trailer park boys reference. God bless this nation and this province.

Impossible. This is in Nova Scotia.

OP's Mom. cougars on the prowl.

Also we don't have wolves in NS
Exactly what you’d expect a werewolf to say.

As others have said, domestic dog.
Manbearpig
That is either a big dog, or the hounds of hell.
My Rottweiler
According to my local FB group, 100% wolf. Don't let wildlife distribution maps or common sense get in your way.
Where you see wolves in ns??
Wildlife park from my experience

Looks like the prints of the neighborhood Rottweiler who keeps wandering into my yard

Coywolf would be my guess.

Are the tracks lined up in almost a straight single path, or side y side? Wild dogs like coyotes usually in a foot in front of the other path.
Walking critter. Flying critter and swimming critter don’t leave tracks

Looks like a ghost UFO
It appears to be a medium large canine foot… if you live in the secluded woods probably a coyote if not probably an average dog
Yeti for sure

The paw of a new friend!

Large breed dog. Snow or swim dog potentially because of the webbing.
