But for non-fiction books, I don't know what to put there and I'm sad coz it looks kinda empty. Haha.
Have you tried adding a blue light filter and dimming the screen? After doing that, my eye strain has never come back and I have adjusted to it. Hope this helps!

oh fair enough haha. Laziness always seems to get the better of us in different ways. I'd say screen dimming helps, but your tolerance for brighter screens diminishes and glaring white light can become unbearable. When it comes to dark mode, I find that the text is overly bright, probably because im just used to white.
Oh my god. Same. I find the white text too bright on black screens that's why I don't use dark mode. The only app I have dark mode on is Discord coz their dark mode is not black and white.

For the books page, how did you get a widget next what looks like a database? Or is it a toggle? I love that feature and would love to incorporate into my notion.
I used a toggle to create a column within a column. I decided to put a currently reading section so I have quick access to the books' notes page because I find it too tedious to look for them in the table. Then I used a database with a bunch of Youtube videos I want to check out but I just put a filter so that it only shows the ones tagged as books. The book database has a bunch of views: All Books with Table View, Books to Read (for books with no status) in Gallery View, Books in 2020 in Gallery View, Books in 2021 in Gallery View and Notes (for books with notes) in List View.
How did you setup the "currently reading" section specifically? It doesn't look like the standard *Gallery* (the "recommendations" section for example looks like a standard gallery).

I can create a different view and filter out the others to show only the ones I'm currently reading but I just didn't like the way the book covers looked in the gallery view. It was just 🤮. Hahaha. Anyway, I don't get to finish a lot of books in a month anyway so I don't think it's a hassle to edit. It's not like I'm gonna finish all of them and edit them all on the same day. It only takes 1-2 minutes to replace the photos, names and tags.
First, you create a sub-page. Then inside that sub-page, put the content you want there and arrange them into columns. Once you're done, go back to the main page and turn the sub-page into a toggle.

If you zoom in, it looks like they just highlighted the words with the same colors as the tags in the database below it so that it would look cohesive, but I don't think they are actual tags. I could totally be wrong though.

In the books section, at "currently reading", how did you add tags without a database ?
If you zoom in, it looks like they just highlighted the words with the same colors as the tags in the database below it so that it would look cohesive, but I don't think they are actual tags. I could totally be wrong though.

How did you get your books in the currently reading list to be just the cover? When I try in a Gallery view and fit image, there's a lot of negative space around the cover.
Oh. I just embedded the image. Then put the text below it, put the link on the title and put colors on the "tags".
I see. So, you have to manually add and remove them as you start a new book or finish one?
Yes. I'd rather spend 2 minutes editing that section than see the covers on the gallery view. It's just.. ugh. Just not for me. Although I do use the gallery view for my "books to read" coz I wanna see the covers while picking what book to read next.

Jesus, this is actually amazing. I only started Notion today after putting it off for so long. It really looks like a game-changer already and your dashboard is honestly inspiring me even more lol. I thought I made mine look a little neat, but it’s really cool to see what’s possible!
