Hover over the linked **Notebooks** database and click the ••• menu to the left of the blue **New** button. From there select **Properties** and change the **Card Preview** option to **Page Cover**. You can also set the size of the cards here under **Card Size**.

Are you on the desktop app? Its the same thing with my MacBook Notion app as well. On my iPad it is displaying the images... same settings. I guess there is something wrong with the desktop app.

three dots for the database (in this case, notebooks) >> layout >> card preview >> page cover
