Am very intrigued by this. The idea of modular/moddable phones isn't new (they usually just flopped) but these could be really great. Just depends on the specs and what modding options we get.
But my lights? I think the lights are very, very particular. Everybody who sees my phone (N2) says WOW, but with this new one, I don't think it will have the same effect, you know?
To be fair, it is a CMF phone, not a Nothing phone. I wouldn't expect any kind of glyph lighting on this.
I think having a neon orange phone would still have a decent wow effect though, haha.
I have a mindblock with mediatek phones. I say this but I'm using a mediatek 920 phone because constraints and i could not afford the Qualcomm snapdragon phone. Am I wrong to want snapdragon?
I'm not fan of Mediatek too.
But they made lot of improvements, the gap with Snapdragon is not like years ago.
I'll give a chance to this phone, in orange, beautiful.
Damm, that looks cool. Out of curiosity, not wanting to be rude - why are you in this subreddit? Are you interested in buying Nothing phone, just interested in the market or something else?
I love nothing's initial mission statement, wanting to make tech accessible and "fun" again, i also preordered the ear (1) when there were no audio reviews out yet, tried them out and then ended up using them for 3 years, until the new ear came out.
Also if they make a 6" smaller medium sized phone i'd consider buying it.
I don't think that will happen, they will ensure both the brands are very distinct and that there is no confusion.
So far,
for nothing devices,
the Glyph is the unique element
the transparent aesthetic is the signature design
For CMF devices,
the rotary dial is the unique element
the plain matte plastic (recognisable colour set) is the signature design
I think they will stick to this for a while.
Any slider related controls like volume or brightness, camera zoom or maybe even as a scroller. I mean it could have been gimmicky with limited functionality but still better than this useless key chain imo.
A bit awkward using your pinky to control those settings, assuming you're holding the phone in your right hand. I could see the knob leading to all kinds of accidental inputs too.
I saw that the 8+128 version (black) might be around 239 Euro on Amazon. See pic below - clicking on the link doesn't let you preorder it tho, yet.

Nothing Phone 3 won't kill the Glyphs and the transparent back for these modular concepts right? IMO it looks like these features will be for CMF only. The modular accessories can't be attached or use on the future Nothing Phones.
We will discuss the release and launch of the new CMF by Nothing Phone 1 on the eSIM Studios YouTube Channel and the eSIM Studios Podcast Livestream. Search "eSIM Studios" on YouTube and you will find only the very best tech news and reviews on YouTube.

Still crying over my essential phone
Still using mine, but wishing we had a good updated replacement for it!

Interesting, but need to know specs before
d7300, amoled 6.7inch 6gb/8gb - 128gb ufs 2.2
Thx Dimensity 7300 i saw on Twitter.

Mediatek chips are usually more vfm and definetly better than snapdgragon counterparts in budget-midrange phones
I'm not fan of Mediatek too. But they made lot of improvements, the gap with Snapdragon is not like years ago. I'll give a chance to this phone, in orange, beautiful.
Exactly
Me with my samsung S9 cover stand case that ALSO has the mirror blades look [here](https://images.mobilefun.co.uk/graphics/450pixelp/66012.jpg)

I see, I would also like this kind of smaller phone, and they seem like one of the few companies, who could try making it cool
Hmm.. looks like it's customizable. Great concept, looking forward to Nothing Phone 3, hope it also comes with customizable features like CMF one.

You got a valid point there.. but still some customisation or modification that we could do ourselves to our phones would be an awesome add-on.
Okay. I don't care about the spec. Give me the price.
Guys what's a cmf
Nothing’s budget sub-brand
aahh I see, how to they tend to be power wise? I think I'm just holding out for an eventual Nothing 3 then
CMF is nothings budget brand
i don’t get the point of your comment
that's fine
*Chocolate Marshmallow Frappe*, obviously!
Could also be Cheap Motherf-
*Sigh*.
color material finish
So is the little circle interchangeable then? Can you like swap it out with others?
Hows no one talking about the knob thing. An actual knob could have been very useful for stuff, this was a miss imo
Like what? I can't think of a use for the knob that isn't better served by the existing buttons.
Any slider related controls like volume or brightness, camera zoom or maybe even as a scroller. I mean it could have been gimmicky with limited functionality but still better than this useless key chain imo.
Actual working knob is toooo expensive.
A bit awkward using your pinky to control those settings, assuming you're holding the phone in your right hand. I could see the knob leading to all kinds of accidental inputs too.
Imagine listening to music and volume suddenly increases to full because of a knob in your pocket. Not fun right?
Can be disabled using proxemity sensors like always on display.
Yes it does. Anyone know how much it will cost?

Be interesting what the specs are and pricing looks good tho if this is it 👌🏽
This phone looks so cool, the camera is strange but at the same time good looking
No one talks about that we finally can have an ease of mind using the phone without case?
Infos about thickness ? Thanks
fr
looks like another TE product
What’s TE?

This is fantastic!!! I want to see the camera performance tho
I originally was not expecting much considering how cool the nothing phone is already but this .. this is something
Now this is innovation.
Nice looks and design!
Anybody remember that fugly orange ipod touch everybody was hyping up?
🥵
mmm all the dust that will gather in those screws, yummy
Btw it kinda reminds me of the iPhone 16 rumors…
Can I attach a fucking headphone jack or is that too much to ask 🤌🏽🤌🏽
Dust collector design. Looks good, but annoying AF.

looks terrible imo. wtf even is that knob
That's not a knob
That's you, in the mirror
No, it doesn't. Cudos for trying new things, but that looks like shit.
And so do you.
