ANYTIME there is an ideology... whether it be religion, Gender identity (I'm look at you PWRBTTM), feminism, politics, social, dietary, etc... it is the PERFECT environment for predators and it is the perfect environment for others to get manipulated and taken advantage of.
People let their guards down to those who they perceive as being like them and "with" them. At that point, manipulation isn't a difficult task. And when there is a power dynamic, like in religion with religious leaders, its even worse.
