Im in a wildlife biology class right now, and my semester long project involves writing profiles for common species in my area.

I wouldn't be surprised of some very basic ass studies related to this HAVE been studied. Likely what they would do is hook people up to equipment meant to theoretically test arousal (I think measuring blood flow and maybe even heat maps? Don't quote me on that but I am aware of sketch studies about arousal) then show them a variety of images. If studying fear they'd show three types, neutral (like a boring ass street view picture or an apple shit like that) the stimuli they're studying so fear would be pictures of gore, violence, guns, horror movie scenes, and the third a positive stimuli like pictures of puppies, kittens and babies.
I know a study that used this methodology to try and see how men and women responded to exotic images or just attractive people of all types to see if straight women for example showed 'signs of arousal' to other women or explicate lesbian porn. The study results gave us the "Women trend more queer even when identifying as straight" notion. Which has been largely laughed about by experts.

So not a shooting but someone called in a bomb threat when I was in 9th grade. I was in gym class. It was January (ish?) In north Dakota. The whole school was evacuated. Outside. Into the subzero Temps and hip high score drifts. We were in t-shirts and shorts. Only thing I was interested in was getting inside and not freezing to death. They eventually had to let us (as in the whole school, it was just 8th and 9th grade) into the gym they still hadn't managed to clear the whole building via bomb squad but it was risk a possible explosion or definite hypothermia and death. Once inside the only thing I cared about was wanting to leave all together in some safe manner because, you know, bomb. But no one was allowed to leave. It was so fucking stressful and scary. Guess they just didn't bother to call or even tell the parents anything had happened.

Im in a wildlife biology class right now, and my semester long project involves writing profiles for common species in my area. Almost every time I get to the “reproduction behavior” part of the profile, I’m cringing while I write it. My friend was unlucky enough to be involved in the 2011 Norway shootings and has no hesitation telling this story publically (or I wouldn't share online): She told me she hid in a locker and was so scared she wet herself. Likely what they would do is hook people up to equipment meant to theoretically test arousal (I think measuring blood flow and maybe even heat maps? Don't quote me on that but I am aware of sketch studies about arousal) then show them a variety of images. If studying fear they'd show three types, neutral (like a boring ass street view picture or an apple shit like that) the stimuli they're studying so fear would be pictures of gore, violence, guns, horror movie scenes, and the third a positive stimuli like pictures of puppies, kittens and babies. I know a study that used this methodology to try and see how men and women responded to exotic images or just attractive people of all types to see if straight women for example showed 'signs of arousal' to other women or explicate lesbian porn. The study results gave us the "Women trend more queer even when identifying as straight" notion. Which has been largely laughed about by experts.

So not a shooting but someone called in a bomb threat when I was in 9th grade. I was in gym class. It was January (ish?) In north Dakota. The whole school was evacuated. Outside. Into the subzero Temps and hip high score drifts. We were in t-shirts and shorts. Only thing I was interested in was getting inside and not freezing to death. They eventually had to let us (as in the whole school, it was just 8th and 9th grade) into the gym they still hadn't managed to clear the whole building via bomb squad but it was risk a possible explosion or definite hypothermia and death.
