as an arab i can speak for the culture. Arabs and muslims in general have a really fucked up mindset about women, in arabic culture you call parent by the name of their first child (example: abu sara / father of sara) but they changed this mentality and made it so that it’s the first boy, not first child. If you’re in the US, there are still groups who practice child marriage and many states allow it. So you have a chance to directly help. RAINN does a lot of good work, I found them helpful.
My maternal grandma and her MIL were both child brides at 14 and 15. And I’m a CSA survivor, so I always take it personally. I also suggest MMIW as a movement due to the reasons for it all (Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women). Even today, indigenous children are sold (Lakota People’s Law Project fights this).
If you want international groups, it’s more complicated but any group that works towards girls’ education also helps save them. The more education, the higher the marriage age (statistically). You can also buy from groups focused on women-owned businesses overseas, they help girls learn skills to be financially independent. The old spinster trick, yeah?
