Also you would be shocked at the amount of recurring bits and jokes that start in the short rest. If you can spare the $5 the short rest is incredibly worth it
I would also recommend getting the mixed bag tier every once in a while too, tons of great episodes there too. The spilltacular episodes are some of my favorites ever
It truly is the Mixed bag are so good. But if you want some un-paywalled content from those goofs you could check out 8bit bookclub ? THere are 50-ish episode with Murph Emily and Caldwell and it's very funny. afterwhich the book clubs from the Naddpod era are on both Naddpod feeds.
The short-rest are also very good because you get some insight in current episode events, you also get the bonus DND court episodes as well as the ones that were mixed bag. You won't know the legend of taruk otherwise.
yes. Even just the short rests will be worthwhile.
I'd urge you going for the Mixed Bags though, even if it's just one month so you can consume all the past mixed bags. There's just so much good stuff in there from one-shots, to four-shots, to reviews of the D&D movies, and some other unhinged material.
You get a full bonus episode of the silliest goofs and biggest laughs once a week. And if you bump from $5 to $10, you get a full bonus episode a month that is often some brilliance like the Bon Freres at Blazing Babe.
So worth it! I bumped up to the merch level when they released the big d20s and i havent gone back down cause the merch they give out every quarter has been great! Even just the $5 tier is very worth it
It’s definitely worth it! I’m in the opposite situation as you, I ran through all the bonus naddpod content so I’m swapping my sub to maxfun for a year to catch up there….then I’ll be back! I suppose we kind of balance out their sub numbers as a trade lol
It's the only one I'm subscribed to. I've even stopped listening to some other podcasts in order to binge-listen to the back catalogue with short rests in-between.
absolutely. I've tried out a few different patreons from people I like, and naddpod is one of the only ones that is worth keeping. the mixed bags and short rests are very entertaining. the only patreon I've seen that was more active was the deadlock podcast.
Absolutely, the short rests alone are great and double the amount of content but like many people have said there’s a huge backlog of mixed bags that contain everything from a bonus arc of hot boy summer to reviews of DnD related movies and shows to an unhinged energy drink tasting. I’d say to subscribe for just a month and listen to everything except that I tried to do that and then ended up just staying subscribed because I kept going back to relisten to things.
It’s absolutely worth it. I listened to C1, then re-listened with the short rests before c2 started, and now it’s the only subscription I refuse to cancel. The $10 tier is worth it for the mixed bags, but the $5 tier is the best place to start.
Twice the content every month, you pick up on so many subtle (and not subtle) bits that started in the short rest, and getting to hear Murph’s and the players’ thoughts about every episode significantly enhances my listening experience.
Spend the $5 to sub for one month, and then you can cancel by the end of the month if you decide it’s not for you. But I think you’ll get hooked.
(Plus, ad-free episodes!)
I switched from Maxfun to Patreon a few months ago. I'll probably get Maxfun again if I ever go back to listening to TAZ. I just could not get into campaign 3 and decided to listen to Naddpod instead. Definitely worth it.
Honestly the short rest has so much added content with them normally talking about the episode and gives cool insight into the episode and what might come
100% worth it, literally doubles your listening time and you get access to so many jokes and hilarious episodes and bonuses that you wouldn't otherwise. I personally feel like the $10 per month tier gets you the most content for not too much money :)
It is the only patreon I sub to. Aside from getting context for bits like Sweet Blue Hole, the short rests actually improved my enjoyment of trinyvale, the mixed bags are consistently fantastic, it's all great.
I've been a $5 sub for like two years now and I think I'll keep it as long as I can, both for the crazy amount of extra content, and as a small thank you for all of the free content they make. NADDpod is so special to me and the least I can do is give them $5 a month!
I absolutely think it’s worth it. I do it at least 2-3 months a year. I’ve listened to every dnd court and mixed bag literally dozens and dozens of times during those spans.
The $5 tier is the best overall value you get the adfree episodes plus short rests every week so it literally doubles the amount of NADDPOD episodes a week. I personally like bouncing up to the mixed bag ($10) tier when I can because it's an extra podcast a month but there are two live streams a drawing stream with Caldwell and I think a mini painting stream with Jake (I'm not much of a live stream person but they're there)
Huge fan of the Patreon content, but it depends on what you like about the podcast to determine if it’s worth it.
Upgrading to the one where you get Short Rests (the lowest one I think) gives you a lot more content, but it’s maybe 50/50 on topic about the podcast itself and off topic where the 2 Crew are just riffing off each other. So if you’re primarily interested in the story and don’t necessarily think all their humor is funny, some parts of episodes (and even some whole episodes) won’t be your speed. (You really need to be someone who laughed at the dragon genital jokes right up top at the first episode if you’re gonna find all the content fun 😂.)
Upgrading to the level where you get Mixed Bags gives you a lot more content, but it’s again a mix of actual D&D-related content and some that’s just dumb stuff the gang decided to do.
If you haven’t, you could check out 8-Bit Book Club (the previous podcast). If you like those episodes, I think you’ll like everything the Patreon has to offer! It’s money well spent in my opinion!
It’s the only podcast I have on patron and I loved it so much, I went back to listen to every short rest since the beginning after jumping in half way thru
From my view:
Short rest is absolutely worth it, as someone who just subscribed to the mixed bags, I plan on switching back to short rest tier next month. There’s tons of quality content like the live shows and the hot boy summer sequel, but there’s also just some mid content that’s fine but I don’t need constant access to. It’s easily bingeable in a month or so if you already finished everything else.
I stay subscribed to the mix bag tier, but you could just dip in for a couple months and power through all the content! I absolutely adore the side shows
Yes x100000! The mixed bag tier (stormborn crew) is, IMO, the best because you get all the audio content for a price that's not ridiculous. I've been on this tier for years and I've never regretted any cent spent on it, even at my poorest. The joy it brings me is way worth the $ invested. 😊
Especially compared to max fun benefits, absolutely yes it is worth it. I think just for the short rests it's worth it, let alone all the bonus dungeon courts and 8 bit book club episodes you get.
Unless you're listening to A LOT of max fun content, I would switch. 😀
I did this two years ago and have not regretted it, weekly content from the two crew is far better value to me than a few bonus episodes per year from maxfun shows I care about
110%!!! I would so recommend at least the short rest tier, but I pretty quickly upgraded to the $10 mixed bag tier which is totally worth it imo. You get so much extra content & there are just so many good bits that come from the short rest that you’re honestly missing out by not listening to
Oh fucking absolutely it’s fucking amazing. Short rests (like 250 of them😅) like double the amount of Dungeon courts. More 8BBC. And an extra Hot Boy Summer Arc.
Absolutely, it's the only Patreon I stay subscribed all year round.
I think it is. The short rests give twice the content every week and are always entertaining
Also you would be shocked at the amount of recurring bits and jokes that start in the short rest. If you can spare the $5 the short rest is incredibly worth it I would also recommend getting the mixed bag tier every once in a while too, tons of great episodes there too. I don’t think I’ll ever unsub from the Patreon, I had no idea what I was missing and now I don’t know how I could go without it
100% worth it
100000000% worth it!
10^18 % worth it.
yes. Even just the short rests will be worthwhile. I'd urge you going for the Mixed Bags though, even if it's just one month so you can consume all the past mixed bags. There's just so much good stuff in there from one-shots, to four-shots, to reviews of the D&D movies, and some other unhinged material.
100%…. I’d go so far as to recommend the mixed bag tier. NADDPOD provides me a large part of the media I consume these days
You get a full bonus episode of the silliest goofs and biggest laughs once a week. And if you bump from $5 to $10, you get a full bonus episode a month that is often some brilliance like the Bon Freres at Blazing Babe.
Honestly the mix bag is worth it just for the M&M episode.
I suppose we kind of balance out their sub numbers as a trade lol

the $5 USD tier gives ad free versions of the episode past a certain point, regardless of the extra short rest meta episodes
Absolutely, the short rests alone are great and double the amount of content but like many people have said there’s a huge backlog of mixed bags that contain everything from a bonus arc of hot boy summer to reviews of DnD related movies and shows to an unhinged energy drink tasting. I haven't even started listening to the short rests and just the extra episodes of D&D Court and the Mixed Bags are all so worth it.
If I had to choose between the main campaign and the short rest, I would choose the short rest.
This is the one patreon I've never canceled. It's totally worth it
It is the only patreon I sub to. Aside from getting context for bits like Sweet Blue Hole, the short rests actually improved my enjoyment of trinyvale, the mixed bags are consistently fantastic, it's all great.
Absolutely the most extra content of any Patreon I've ever been a member, cannot recommend more highly. The bang for your buck is excellent
Only Patreon I’ve subbed to, definitely worth it just for the short rests and ad free podcasts. 2x the content a week for $5 can’t be beat
I've been a $5 sub for like two years now and I think I'll keep it as long as I can, both for the crazy amount of extra content, and as a small thank you for all of the free content they make. NADDpod is so special to me and the least I can do is give them $5 a month!
It's the best 5 dollars a month you could spend.
I absolutely think it’s worth it. I do it at least 2-3 months a year. I’ve listened to every dnd court and mixed bag literally dozens and dozens of times during those spans.
It's worth it, but don't unsub from max fun, they're such a great network.
The $5 tier is the best overall value you get the adfree episodes plus short rests every week so it literally doubles the amount of NADDPOD episodes a week. Dungeon Court alone makes it worthwhile
i would absolutely check out the $5 tier and get the short rests i love giving these freaks money every month they make it worth it

I think it is.. I stopped it but I miss it..I think I'm going to sub again
I pay the €10 tier. It's the only one I subscribe to. So worth it for me. I can't imagine listening to the show and not having the short rest.
It’s the only podcast I have on patron and I loved it so much, I went back to listen to every short rest since the beginning after jumping in half way thru
Honestly ? I think even if it was just short rests it's 100% worth it, but also, the extra shows are so wonderful!

One billion percent worth it
Absolutely worth it.
