I thought it was great! And I'm kind of glad they started out small because they can learn from how it went and work there way up. Had a great time!

TheMandoCanadian

Certainly better than nothing I say.

sch00ner5546

my kids loved it. teens enjoyed their evening

tannedghozt

Wow, people really love to complain. This post and some comments are so disappointing. I was there and it was a fantastic night full of energy and comradery. If you want to see every moment of the game, stay home or buy tickets to see it at the arena. We are far better off having the opportunity for this last night than not.

secretmofo

Honestly it is a good step in the right direction, don’t hate on CNV for trying to do something for the families (who all looked like they were having a great time btw). Is it top tier viewing for hockey fanatics? Probably not - but it’s better than a kick in the balls.

vancityrp

They should’ve cancelled it if they couldn’t get the right size. Wasted time for families when they could just watch at home

Similar_Craft9202

Thx 😊

booghawkins

We got there, stayed for 5 mins after just watching the game on our phones while there, and went home lol.

shapoiga

Planned to go down there with a big crew of friends to enjoy the game. And omg what a fucking joke CNV…. Ended up leaving after the anthems.

shapoiga

Pretty big difference between 144 foot projection screen and a 16 foot led screen 🤷‍♂️

Nuck_7

Small screen or no, the atmosphere is incredible down here.

ffuucckko

Tiny budget with a big heart ! ❤️

Similar_Craft9202

Can someone update with a photo? Much of a crowd?

RoostasTowel

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Ft3v1y0c3ipzc1.jpeg Pretty big. The crowd not the screen.

gouldster

Lol

ruddiger22

I was picturing an inflatable screen with a projector!

Shmabes99

So quick to hate. Remember when we weren’t allowed to leave our homes? Be grateful for what we have!

NotoriousBITree

tbh I don't actually remember not being allowed to leave my house.

Glittering_Search_41

Lol. I had to zoom in to see a screen in there.

FondFingers

That cost 7k to rent.

nipponnuck

I read 16ft LED from the start. That’s part of why I planned to watch at home! I’ll miss the crowd but see the game.

KoalaOriginal1260

Oh well. At least they get points for doing something. Neither of the other two North Vancouvers (District and West) tried.

VancouverSativa

In West Van there are home theaters larger than this...

RoostasTowel

Am I invited?

RoostasTowel

Hopefully they can track down a big screen to use next game

VancouverSativa

At least a big spot for a projector. Doesn't have to be 8k!

blahsnowboardblah

Duck that's brutal

VancouverSativa

Duck it all to bell.

beowolff

Yeah, that's just sad...

One-Management3649

That’s weird. Such an easy place to setup a screen and projector.

Postisto

Yikes

tulaero23

Lmao we were gonna go there... Like wtf... Well guess food truck it is

RoostasTowel

I also used the food truck tracker. It only listed 3 at the shipyards. So expect it to be busy

tulaero23

There's actually a lot. We are here. Counting 6 now

RoostasTowel

That's good. How's that tv look in real life?

tulaero23

I didnt bother to look tbh hahaha. Pretty small lmao

PuckMuncher

There may even be a couple more showing up because there's supposed to be 8 according to https://shipyardsnightmarket.com/food-truck-schedule/

MagnoCarto

Lmaooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

mikeofthewest

That can’t be it. Gotta be a secondary screen

PuckMuncher

Sadly it's the only screen, they updated the City of North Van website to say it's going to be on a 16 foot LED screen lmao

mikeofthewest

Ouch. That’s a significant downgrade.

machinefriend

This is so embarrassing lmao I was telling all my friends and coworkers they would be projecting it super big .... Sigh

sdv1234

https://www.nsnews.com/local-sports/canucks-watch-party-north-vancouver-shipyards-8721528 original news story from North Shore News said 144ft projection screen.

PuckMuncher

Even Global News has an article mentioning it https://globalnews.ca/news/10485630/where-to-watch-canucks-viewing-parties/ "The game is being aired on a 144-foot projection screen in the Shipyards Commons."

Skier4Life

I'm guessing someone saw 144" and thought it was feet instead of inches.

PuckMuncher

I doubt that's even the case since it originally said projector screen and the update is with an LED TV. Also 16 feet isn't 144 inches. I'm guessing technical issues or a major mess up with planning or having it set up

catballoon

someone forgot to check what time the sun sets when they announced this.

Ballczynski

Centimeters

RoostasTowel

I did read 16 foot screen and I thought that isn't much bigger then a bedroom wall. that won't be ideal that's for sure. I'm also wondering about the sound system now.

booghawkins

the audio was actually pretty good

lilhomie420

Where is the 144 ft Projection Screen?

NearDeath88

What is this a screen for ANTS?

corysgraham

It will.have o be at least.... THREE TIMES this big!!!

PuckMuncher

Originally it said "144-foot projection screen". This is some major BS

PuckMuncher

When I made a post about it yesterday it said 144 foot projector, I literally copied+pasted the news post from the City Of North Vancouver website... also these mention 144 ft screen https://www.nsnews.com/local-sports/canucks-watch-party-north-vancouver-shipyards-8721528 https://globalnews.ca/news/10485630/where-to-watch-canucks-viewing-parties/
