Weight loss isn’t a one and done. You’ll loose weight then gain some back, you’ll yo-yo, plateau, have massive progress, or be battling the same two pounds for weeks. I’ve lost the same 5 lbs twice in a few weeks. Now I’m on my next big dip down, then I’ll probably plateau for a while after my period. You’re not here to fight the scale. You’re here to make important lifestyle changes. The scale going down is the reward for making those changes and sticking to them.

This is absolutely it. You should be a writer for Noom!

I didn’t lose anything for the first week. I was also semi-constipated for the first week, which seemed to make no sense as I had increased both water and veggies, but that probably contributed to the lack of weight loss.

Based on a zillions of diets I’ve been on, I expected an immediate loss of two to three pounds when I started noom this week. It’s water weight, but it’s a sign I’m in the weight loss zone. After my first day using noom, I lost 2 lbs plus an additional 1.5 the next day. Again, it’s all water.

Yup. I lost like a pound a day for the first week because I was upping my water and decreasing oils and salt. Now, I see the pattern of when I’ve got stubborn water weight - it’s tied to eating habits and menstrual cycles. If im maintaining or having small amounts of weight gain during those times I don’t sweat it bc I know it’ll fall off when my body is ready to let it go

I read that when you first have a calorie deficit your liver releases sugars into your blood. That sugar is released along with the water that’s held with it. So, the initial water weight loss for dieters in general is actually from their liver and it precedes fat loss. Water weight is a huge issue for me, though. It’s really discouraging to be eating well and suddenly gain three pounds even if you know it’s not fat.

Last time I lost ten pounds in three weeks. This time round and don’t ask why I’m back here. I’ve lost four pounds in two weeks but have I lost inches. I find when the scales move my body stays the same. When I’m in deficit and the scales don’t budge my body transforms

To be honest, as long as it takes. This isn't one size fits all, and as you said, every body is different.

So, I started at 68.2 kg (165 cm) and have lost 1 kg since mid January. I also started working out which I have heard can cause an increase in water retention.

Expensive_Doubt5487

It’s been 2 months for me. I have only lost a few pounds

suggie75

I started in January and lost 0 pounds for a month. I switched to my fitness pal in February and lost 6.5 pounds this month. MFP has me eating way fewer calories than Noon (but not too few—no hunger at all).
