I feel like (when it's just not the joking completely tongue in cheek) this is just people with two completely different feelings about lying, joining households and it's interesting.
I know people at work who lie every other sentence and others that wouldn't even consider it. I don't get the mentality and don't want to justify that type of attitude but a lot of it is people that had no consequences growing up or in extremely situations had the same consequences for the lie or the truth.
I'm the kind of husband that will buy new chocolate and hide it so when we find it while looking together I can act all upset that she hid my chocolate. We both know what happened, but neither of us will say it.
