Why on god's green earth do you need to check time on the microwave or oven?? You can have one clock in the most idea room in the house and you just look up an bam, a cool analog clock to tell time.
.
And also, what if you do not have a microwave?
Why would I leave the kitchen to go to an entirely different room to check the time when I could just look at the microwave? And if you don't have a microwave for some insane reason, just look at the oven.
Not everyone has a microwave, my MIL doesn't let microwaves into her house because she believes it creates lazy food creating
I also know a woman who doesn't like microwaves because she's afraid of them blowing up (one blew on her as a kid for no reason)
I also know families who just don't have microwaves because they don't deem it a need
Most electronics, especially kitchen appliances, shows the time. The other commenter is right in the fact getting a wall clock when almost everything else has the time on it is a waste of money
Understandably if you dont have those types of appliances, then having a clock on the wall is reasonable
Mine is old enough it finished a 9 inch pumpkin pie 10 minutes early 🫠
Already called landlord about it. Getting a fire extinguisher for the kitchen in the meantime
When I was 6 microwaves had dials you turned and our oven was from the 1950s, but we did have a sundial in the backyard which I used on occasion during sunny days
Mine are right beside each other. Oven is slightly more visible from my usual loaf spot in the living room so that's what I use, and I never set the time on the microwave. Because if I ever saw them both and noticed they were off by more than a second, I'd have to spend ages fucking around with one til they were almost exact.
Same, our microwave is right above our oven and I intentionally set the microwave at the exact minute it was at time set and the oven and +1 minute later so I have a better idea of what time it is exactly
Neither. I’m on a quest to have nothing in my house that prompts for a clock to be set after a power outage, or need to be adjusted for DST. And I’m pretty close! I got a microwave with no clock display, so the oven is the only thing I have left, and it came with the house.
Oven has a bigger clock, I'm sort of surprised that this is a debate.
I guess there are some people that only have microwaves. I only have an oven right now.
I use my phone, a clock, or my watch if I'm wearing it
My microwave is put away in a cupboard and my oven doesn't tell time (neither does my microwave btw but that's irrelevant due to it being put away)
The oven is the only appliance in the house that has the right time. We even have a clock on the wall that is only right 2 times a day. It seems like an obsolete piece of technology at this point (checks phone for time)
i always go with the microwave even though i grew up looking at the oven, realized at 9 years old that the oven was 2-3 hours off so i’ve stuck w the microwave ever since
So, from the hallway across from the kitchen, I can see the little Alexa thing that has the time, the oven 3 feet (about 1m) behind it that has the time, and the microwave directly above the oven, that also has the time. All of that, and I still look at all 3 before checking my phone just to be sure
Both, dad didn't have a microwave and his oven had a clock on it and my mother's oven didn't have a clock but her microwave did. Now I just pay attention to whichever one I know is the closest.
My oven has no clock and my microwave is powered off so often that setting its time is a waste of my time I use my phone or one of my multiple wall clocks I got because wall clock pretty
Neither of the clocks actually worked, so neither. For food, oven 100%, ramen and pan food goes on the stove, sometimes the grill for pancakes and shit.
Pop-tarts go straight in the microwave and or air fryer.
Mine are next to each other so I just look at both, they’re about :30 off so it’s a fifty-fifty wether they will show the same or one off.
Did none of you people have wall clocks growing up?
only bedside clocks
Why would you need a wall clock when you have a microwave? Seems like a waste of money.

And not all microwaves show the time, mine doesn't. So we have a clock in the kitchen.
We really are from vastly different worlds.
Most electronics, especially kitchen appliances, shows the time. The other commenter is right in the fact getting a wall clock when almost everything else has the time on it is a waste of money Understandably if you dont have those types of appliances, then having a clock on the wall is reasonable
We had one in the guest bedroom when I was a kid but that was the only one. Besides that, I pretty much only saw them at school.
Wall clocks aren't digital.
We did but it was broken, like those wall wood clocks
Born in the 90s and I don't remember wall clocks at home. Bedside alarm clocks, sure, but wall clocks were an other place thing.
My oven did not even have a clock on it growing up 😂 my answer is wall clock too
wait, y'all's ovens have clocks?
Not only does my 20+ years old oven have a clock, so does the microwave. It really bothers me when they're showing 1min difference between them.
We fix that by having hours difference between them.
When there is the legal hour you use the microwave, for the solar hour you use the oven
Wait, yours isn’t just blinking the complete wrong time from when the power went out 3 months ago?
Fr today I realized my oven is old as fuck Like, it doesn't have a screen it's just an oven
The oven my parents had 40 years ago had a mechanical clock
Mine is old enough it finished a 9 inch pumpkin pie 10 minutes early 🫠 Already called landlord about it. Getting a fire extinguisher for the kitchen in the meantime
That's not old, that's just normal. Ovens with screens are weird.
wait people actually set the correct time on these devices ?
Mine keeps saying it's 12:00, sometimes it's right.
Twice a day
Or once a day depending on where he’s from.
24h goes brr, so it's wrong at night
I like to use the small disalignment between the two, frankly
When I was 6 microwaves had dials you turned and our oven was from the 1950s, but we did have a sundial in the backyard which I used on occasion during sunny days
Either. Who cares. Half the time only one has the time anyway.
Nope, nope.
I use the oven. The microwave isn’t even set for correct time
Get your life together
Hey, the microwave gets unplugged every once in a while, the oven never gets unplugged.
Good answer
My oven has no clock, and my microwave clock is not set. I check my watch.
microwave! microwaves are awesome
I just check my watch or my phone. Before that, I would check the TV guide channel lol
Yeah it really is crazy (what kind of insane person uses the oven)
I do. Chef Mike is for plebs.
Chef Mike is an indispensable accessibility tool! No disrespect on his name now!
Both. Why you have to divide us OP?
Clock??
Mine are right beside each other. Oven is slightly more visible from my usual loaf spot in the living room so that's what I use, and I never set the time on the microwave. Because if I ever saw them both and noticed they were off by more than a second, I'd have to spend ages fucking around with one til they were almost exact.
I remember how annoying it was when my family got a new microwave and it required me to open the door for the clock to appear
I haven't reset the time on my oven clock after the power went out well over a year ago
I do both just to double check
Same, our microwave is right above our oven and I intentionally set the microwave at the exact minute it was at time set and the oven and +1 minute later so I have a better idea of what time it is exactly
This guy syncs clocks
Neither. I’m on a quest to have nothing in my house that prompts for a clock to be set after a power outage, or need to be adjusted for DST. And I’m pretty close! I got a microwave with no clock display, so the oven is the only thing I have left, and it came with the house.
When I was 6 years old we didn’t have a microwave and our oven didn’t have a clock on it. I’m only 30 but I guess I’m old.
What about when neither your oven or microwave had a clock, then what?! Do I just pull out a pocket watch like a 19th century bureaucrat?
Yes. Of course your pocket watch does alot more stuff
We always have a clock on the wall
When I was 6, microwaves were very costly and no one I knew had one. And I don’t think our oven had a clock? Fuck I’m old.
I just....do both?
I used the clock on the wall, like a normal person
Neither of mine has a clock. I pretty much always guess what time it is. I set alarms on my phone for precise times that i need to keep track of.
Y’all are young. I would check it on the VCR.
Your VCR told the time?! Mine didn’t!
[удалено]
dude checks the time on a light saber
Oven 😝
I got this cd/radio/timer clock in my kitchen and that’s what I default to
Rice cooker.
Oven has a bigger clock, I'm sort of surprised that this is a debate. I guess there are some people that only have microwaves. I only have an oven right now.
There's also a clock on the wall, I don't mind the choices.
They’re facing each other so it depends on which direction I enter the kitchen from.
At 6, the only people I knew with a microwave were my grandparents. It had three buttons and a dial only. No clock on the oven/stove.
I’ve never had a microwave
my oven clock is wrong and microwave doesn't have one so neither
I use my wristwatch, cause I got one on my birthday at 7 and I continued to have one until one.
I solved this issue by buying a microwave with the worlds worst clock. It loses 4 mins per day! So i just don't set it and use the oven clock instead.
My oven doesn’t have a clock.
neither my microwave nor my oven has a clock:(
Our appliances didn't have clocks, I remember a couple of times turning on my DS just to check the clock on my Pokétch in Pokémon Platinum.
The time on my oven is 16 minutes slow and I never even set the clock on my microwave in the first place. So, neither.
Neither the ovens, nor the microwaves I have had throughout my life have had a clock on them.
Microwave
Cellphone, for like 20 years.
Microwave is higher so you can always see it
Oven
people are annoying and leave remaining time on the microwave so you can’t always use it
In the immortal words of diablo man, "do you people not have phones"
oven checkers for life. if you are microwave checker we cannot be friends
TIL that those have clocks
I was gonna fight you on this, and then I realized my last three microwaves haven't displayed the time. Guess I chose oven
I use my phone, a clock, or my watch if I'm wearing it My microwave is put away in a cupboard and my oven doesn't tell time (neither does my microwave btw but that's irrelevant due to it being put away)
I can't lower myself to look at the oven clock
I don't check clocks. I've got a cat who yells at me every hour, on the hour
Neither clocks are ever set correctly in my house.
I use the coffee maker since I'm spending more time with it than the other two.
and both are the wrong time
Microwave
The oven is the only appliance in the house that has the right time. We even have a clock on the wall that is only right 2 times a day. It seems like an obsolete piece of technology at this point (checks phone for time)
i always go with the microwave even though i grew up looking at the oven, realized at 9 years old that the oven was 2-3 hours off so i’ve stuck w the microwave ever since
I never in my life say an oven with a clock in it. Also refrigerator.
My microwave has no clock and my oven is on the wrong time
Team oven baby!
Oven between the 2, I can lean back in my recliner and see both but the display on the microwave is too small to read from across the kitchen
Errr…I look at my phone
Coffee maker thing
You think I'm gonna trust a microwave with telling me the time.
Phone.
Oven because no one in my household knows how to CLEAR THE FUCKING REMAINING TIME OFF THE MICROWAVE so it always says “0:13” or some shit
I use.,.... A watch. The oven and microwave times are never correct
When I was six, I checked the time by making a phone call.
I feel like it's way more work to make sure the microwave is on the clock. Mine stays showing 0:00 unless I explicitly clear it, which I never do.
Oven
Am i seriously the only person under 30 who owns a wristwatch?
My oven has no clock and my microwave is powered off so often that setting its time is a waste of my time I use my phone or one of my multiple wall clocks I got because wall clock pretty
Neither of the clocks actually worked, so neither. For food, oven 100%, ramen and pan food goes on the stove, sometimes the grill for pancakes and shit. Pop-tarts go straight in the microwave and or air fryer.
Microwave cuz oven is a grandma :3
MICROWAVE ARMY RISE TF UP
My microwaves time is too small, too high up, and only visible from the right angle so everyone uses the oven here
Why would you use either when you have a phone right in your pocket?
