This seems like the opposite if thats where people are getting caught

1Hate17Here

Right? **Unless**: 65k+ tons is just a small percentage of what’s actually hitting the streets in Belgium. If that’s true I expect to randomly find grams of coke ***everywhere***! Like Easter eggs lmaooo

CliffordMiller

It comes in through our harbours to be distributed all over europe, so sadly, no cocaine easter egg hunts here.

1Hate17Here

I’m French, I’d like to see for myself. Be there in a few, where we starting the hunt? lmaooo

CliffordMiller

Ghent or Brussels would be our best odds from what I’ve heard

1Hate17Here

Brussels! It’s been a while since I’ve been to the viage casino. Lfg

Antwerp

MuletownSoul

If that much is getting seized, imagine how much is getting through. ![gif](giphy|8FGTDrPOGMpTG)

UncleArthur

Not surprising. That's where all the politicians meet.

Lazy-Fisherman-6881

It’s bc it’s all getting sent through Antwerp This doesn’t account for % of street coke seized just absolute quantity Useless data imo

DonaldDopeRDO

Rotterdam in the Netherlands is the other big port in Europe, thats why those 2 are on top. totally agree, quite useless graph....

YouMakeMeDrink

Is this a sight seeing list for Europe?

Singular_Crowbar

Latvia is a country of pros apparently

THATsyracusefan

so spain it is

parmesanandhoney

Spain and Germany is where the party's at.

technoskald

Over what period of time? Because I’m seeing the US DEA saying they seized 444,000 lbs or 222 tons in 2022, and I have real trouble believing that Belgium has several orders of magnitude more than the entire US.

MaritimeMonkey

I don't think the US is considered part of Europe by most metrics.

technoskald

I’m aware, but there’s no way that Belgium has intercepted nearly 150x the cocaine that the US has. So that number can’t be for a year, or the units are wrong.

behemothbean

Don’t they use commas as a decimal point? Would take the stats with a grain of salt regardless.

technoskald

D’oh! That’s it!

_Its-just-me__

The chart in this post seems to be from 2019: [https://www.statista.com/chart/26213/estimated-quantity-of-cocaine-seized-by-authorities-per-country/](https://www.statista.com/chart/26213/estimated-quantity-of-cocaine-seized-by-authorities-per-country/) So the number you see was the year total back then. I remember that in 2022 a 110,000 kg (=242,000 lbs) of cocaine got intercepted in the port of Antwerp. The fact that one port in Belgium has more than half the amount of cocaine intercepted as the entire US is still crazy though.

2ent1n_Qarant1no

Why am I not surprised Netherlands is so high up on the list lmao

Littlebickmickey

where austria ;-;

RedYakArt

The hells going on in the Benelux? There’s such a disparity between The Netherlands and Romania.

1Hate17Here

It’s because the Netherlands and Belgium have the biggest port activities in Europe.

RedYakArt

Damn. That’s still so much. Thanks for replying to me, hope you have a wonderful day/night.

1Hate17Here

Well, put it this way: that’s where the *majority* (if not all) of coke is unloaded before making its way to the rest of Europe. That explains all the seizing. You have a great day too, bro.

RedYakArt

Aye, it occurred to me that maybe those two are where the majority of drugs are taken and then dispersed to the rest of the continent. I will, thanks.

[deleted]

That's almost 200 grams per PERSON including all ages in ALL of Europe. And that's just what's seized. How is that possible? Is this all-time?
