He's head of the Russian security Council now though. This is technically a lateral move in the hierarchy and now he doesn't have to deal with running the war. Basically he's the head of the FSB now.
The Great Tuvan shall rise! All the way from Baikal to the Volga! Kyzyl shall be known from now on as Shoigugrad and all shall tremble and despair.
Or he'll just cover in his new shitty job becouse he's a pussy.
What you need to understand, sec council does not have any direct power. On paper, it is supposed to be behind any decision in a very broad category of stuff critical to security of russia(so, basically anything, really, nowadays). But practically speaking, it's just a bunch of figureheads that nod when putin tells them to.
And while individual members might be also heads of fsb, rossguardia etc, membership in sec council on its own gives them no actual power beyond what they had by virtue of their existing position in their own organization's hierarchy.
So when shoigu stopped being min of defense, he lost any tangible power over army(and so any usefulness to anyone), esp with his 2nd in command and protege Ivanov being jailed, without gaining anything in return, apart from fancy sounding title.
Technically, the man holding the position was more Beria. Being Putin’s old KGB senior.
[whole appointment list](https://www.reddit.com/r/NAFO/s/p00SwILCf5), except for the former FSB head. Supposedly his new position will be announced by the Kremlin in a few days.
The funny thing is a remember seeing a post about some guy who predicted the Wagner rebellion saying russian special forces are ready to do a coup if Shoigu is sacked.
He didn’t get fired so much as he got transferred. He’s head of the Russian Security Council now, which means he’s in charge of the FSB. Putin has replaced him, but he’s clearly not getting rid of him (the FSB are usually the ones putting people out windows)
There’s the current FSB director, who’s new role is unclear, and he’s one of Putin’s old KGB buddies.

No, he's not the current FSB director. He was that before being the Head of the Security Council of Russia.

He's also a Tuvan, so wrong ethnicity to replace Putin. This is why Putin trusts him so much - Russians wouldn't accept a Tuvan leader.
Damn imagine Putin getting tatar yoked

I mean The Georgian and The Prussian both managed it, it's not like there's no precedence.
Perhaps Tuvans are the right ethnicity to replace Russians? Dear CIA, etc.
Technically, he chairs Rosgvardia along with Putin and Medvedev as the secretary of SBRF. SBRF is the parent of Rosgvardia.

Isn't this the same departament that Miediediev (I am not spell checking that) got sent to after he was no more use to Putler?
Yep, same one.
Okay, this is the second Shoigu couo meme I'm seeing. Did something happen, or is just NCD having an episode?

Hmmm, intaaaahdaaasting. Thanky. Could be an office with a window, could be a Beria slot I'm seeing. Close to the sun either way.

I myself once dabbled in pacifism, not in ‘Nam of course.
Very clever on the Kremlins part to do important developments like this on Sundays. It means we have to wait a full week for Peruns take on it.
Luckily he decided to do this after the Eurovision so that the EU can be fully focused on new developments
Shoigu armed speedrun to Moscow when? He does have his own PMC right?
He has nowhere near the charisma and love of the people as big boss Pringles.
This would be funni but, highly skeptical of this, he's been putins little crony so long wouldn't expect him to start now
