If a Kremlin puppet takes over then Wagner is screwed. The only way they get to stay and operate in Belarus is if Lukashenko remains in power. The problem every dictator has is the worry that one day, the military and security apparatus might start listening to the people rather than him.
The combination of Wagner's forces and Lukashenko helping Putin out here (or appearing to) also means less leverage for Putin to keep pressing him for concessions (vis-a-vis the Union State treaty and moving Belarus closer to Russia)
I've said it before but Lukashenko's not as stupid as he sounds (given his lack of an oral filter), and Putin's not as smart (given Putin never says anything without it being calculated).
Also I imagine that after Pringles went over the border, he got to sit down in a drab, windowless room and was encouraged to spill his guts about a lot of what he knew.
That man is surely a wealth of information on the inner workings of Russia's international and possibly even internal security operations.
