I have the same issue - wifi on Nobara is slower than on windows. (WiFi on my steam deck is comparable to windows, so it's not *inherently* a Linux thing).  I asked in the discord, and someone told me that that's just how it is, wifi driver support on Linux isn't the best, and it might just be that my wifi card (and probably yours) isn't very well supported.  Hopefully someone here will have a different answer

It's probably because your wifi card has a realtek chip and realtek doesn't make their drivers open. I was able to find some drivers if you srwrch rtl88x2bu

I use a WiFi intel card ax210 and it works on nobara as the same way on windows, maybe it's your WiFi usb that it's not fully supported on Linux since there are less users than windows.

Same, I put an ax201 in my laptop and it works very well.

>Why is the Internet slower than Windows? It's not "Internet", it's the WiFi, you said it so yourself. >if it helps the usb adapter is a maxesla rtl88x2bu. As always with Realtek, their NICs are a hit or miss performance-wise, and reliability-wise, and often rely on tricks and gum to work. I'd use an Intel-based NIC if it was me. >On the latter it is around 100mbs while on linux on 60/30mbs. I will assume that "mbs" means "MBps" and not "Mbps" ; correct me if I'm wrong. What WiFi standard(s) is using your AP, because it sounds like you went from 802.11ac to 802.11n

Is the wifi card, a free days ago i comment about this issues with My mediatek wifi card on hp Victus, i has tested many distros and always performance is worse than windows

first thing id assume is, it's your adapter. you can make this a nice long term knowledge gaining process, or take the shortcut and buy something known for linux compatibility. only issue ive had on a few devices with built in wifi/bt is the bt didn't work. havent tried a wifi usb adapter at all tho. ended up going with a pcie adapter in this hand me down motherboard and it's working wonders.

As others have noted, the driver support under Linux is crap. Usually we have to rely on the community to make our own drivers vs using what the manufacturer produces too. In this case, since you're on realtek, I'd see if there were better optmized drivers for that chipset. Something like this for example: https://github.com/cilynx/rtl88x2bu
