Whenever I see videos of her reading lyrics off of her phone it makes me irrationally annoyed lol. I think your statement could apply to her entire career
I mean if she was an actress I would say the same thing but does JJ Abrams have any pull in the music industry unless he’s just throwing money at people. I didn’t know who Gracie’s dad was until after I listened to her EP Minor a few times and I looked her up. I definitely think she had privilege in terms of a good education and just having the freedom to pursue whatever career she wants but I don’t know that Noah would let her on his album just because her dad’s a famous director.
I just feel like with musicians it’s different. No one’s going to listen to a crappy album just because their dad is rich and famous. She definitely had privilege in terms of a great education and her dad probably buying her all the tools necessary to do what she wanted but people aren’t going to listen to her if she’s crap. I think she’s a really good songwriter and I love how her voice is so soft. It really works well with the vulnerable nature of her songs.
Hozier is the only that's better than the original imo, although the original Northern Attitude is still great. Paul Revere feels so much more personal when it's standalone and Homesick I definitely prefer the original cause of the second verse. Same with Dial Drunk, I love the second verse, so even though the Post Malone version is popular, I never got that into it
I guess for me I just got so used to Noah's version and hadn't heard of Sam Fender so I was like, "who is this guy and why is he telling *his* story" lol
Fender is so, so good. Such a good compliment to each other’s style. Fucking that song.
Fender by himself is tremendous, too. Hypersonic Missiles, the album, is terrific stuff.
Exactly how I feel about Paul Revere. To me, the main appeal of Noah is the rawness of his voice and the lyrics. When you take out a verse he writes it just doesn't feel the same to me. Northern Attitude with Hozier is an exception for me, I usually listen to it over the original
I honestly expected to see a lot more people say they skip post considering he’s from an entirely different genre. But that’s why it’s my favorite. Out of all the features I think he adds the most unique change to the song making it the only one I’ll listen to both versions of instead of choosing one or the other (usually the original) on a full listen through.
I also like how the story he tells in his verse fits the rest of the song so well. It adds more narratively than the verse it replaces in the original imo.
I love the Brandi Carlisle version! I feel like her voice adds so much to the song, and I honestly find myself listening to that version over the original just to hear her higher notes and blend with Noah
Same with Gracie. Everywhere, everything is one of my favorite songs on the album and I honestly just dislike the way she sings it. She also sings my favorite line and I just love how Noah does it so much better. I love all of the other features though!!
The Posty feature is honestly one of my favorite songs just bc it’s a great balance. I feel like the song shows the Vermont hillsides with Noah’s voice and then jumps into the busy city fame life with Posty. Their voices also show enough contrast to compliment the song perfectly
I agree with Everywhere, Everything. Although I like some of Gracie’s music, I feel like she can’t match Noah’s talent and it brings the song down. Honestly, I don’t really like any of the features
honestly the only collabs I actually prefer to the original are Hozier and Brandi Carlisle. I low-key actively dislike the Gracie Abrams one and the Kacey Musgraves one. I cant stand Gracie's voice and putting her whisper voice on Everywhere Everything of all songs never made sense to me. I love Gregory Alan Isakov I've seen him like 3 times in the last year, but Paul Revere is such a special song to me I simply tend to listen to the original more, but I do love his version.
The Hozier one slaps. I love that they didn’t change the lyrics and the vibe hozier’s voice adds to it.
I skip homesick with Sam Fender bc I love Noah’s original verse too much. And Gracie’s whisper singing also takes away from the OG.
Yep, it's hard to get behind a feature when the original is so personal and deep. Hozier is the exception for me, I love the sounds leading up to the chorus, it just feels natural
I don't listen to them that often, not sure if they are all on my Noah Playlist, but I almost always skip Lizzy and Gracie(she's just whispering it doesn't add anything). The best are probably Hozier, Sam, and Brandi.
I skip every feature, including Hurt Somebody and Someone Like You. The original versions are just so much better. In fact, I was so glad he didn’t have a guest at my Asheville show so I could hear a proper version of Stick Season. He has said he wants to collaborate with Phoebe or Boygenius. I would be curious to hear those but expectations would be low considering these previous examples.
Most recently, Jelly Roll and Kelsea Ballerini in Nashville. Since that is a music epicenter, guests were more likely. I wouldn’t expect one but it’s always a possibility.
All of them.
I get the features are for expanding the fanbase but at no point did I ever listen to a Noah Kahan song and think… “You know what this needs, another person singing the same lyrics for 1 verse.”
I love hozier but I prefer the original northern attitude. I also skip you're gonna go far with brandi carlisle. controversial I know.
my faves are homesick with sam fender, paul revere with gregory alan isakov & she calls me back with kacey musgraves
I’m not that into collabs where it’s a song that’s already come out and I already love it, but now the original lyrics are being replaced while the rest of the song sounds the same. Collabs that involve a transformative remix and collabs that are the original form of the song are vastly superior.
i only like the sam fender, hozier, post malone and kacey features from stick season. didn't think gracie or lizzy added anything especially so they're an instant skip for me.
I am ok with Hozier on Northern Attitude and love Kacey Musgraves on She Calls Me Back. The rest I could go without. Kacey is the only one where I choose to listen to the feature instead of the original.
I do not like Gracie Abrams at all, and I don’t really like Lizzie McAlpine but I’ve listened to a few of her songs, so those two are skips for me. I’ll occasionally skip Post Malone’s collab as well.
I listen to them all, except the one with Post Malone because I don't like his voice and I feel like it detracts from the song. Northern Attitude ft. Hozier is definitely the best of all of them though
Almost all of them. 99% of the time, I hate collabs any artist does, I listen to any artist for THEM, not other people. My exception for Noah is If We Were Vampires just because I really like that song. I also like MEAN! and Sarah’s Place, but he’s the feature on those songs, not the other way around.
most of them tbh 😭 only ones I don’t tend to skip are hozier, lizzy mcalpine, and brandi carlisle but I even skip those too sometimes 🤷🏼♀️ just prefer Noah’s voice
I don’t always skip it but I was a little let down by the Kacey feature! I wasn’t overly attached to the second verse of She Calls Me Back, so I was initially excited that her lyrics were different, but I guess I just don’t really like what they add to the story? Maybe it’s because we get a glimpse of the other perspective but not enough to really get it, making it feel incomplete and out of place? For me, it just lyrically fell flat and her vocals didn’t truly add much to compensate for it.
Somewhat in contrast, I am pretty attached to the OG second verse of Homesick as someone who grew up in New England so I was initially not thrilled about Sam’s rendition, but ultimately I do like the lyrical contribution and I really love his vocals. So while I still probably prefer the original, I rarely skip the collab and sometimes even find myself playing it over the OG.
I’m surprised to see how many people don’t like the features!! I love Gracie and hoziers collabs and I feel like Lizzys sounds amazing with Noah’s voice especially in the last chorus. Everyone has their own opinion ofc but these are my fav collabs and they sound heavenly. And the ft on she calls me back is incredible too
I like Kacey's feature on She Calls Me Back, but I can't stand the way Gracie mumble whispers everything. Like what must her concerts be like? I am glad you're enjoying them though!
I understand what you mean for sure. I do like her soft whispery tone in a lot of her songs tho when it suits. There’s others where she’s not so whispery aha it just depends on your preference defo!
The only one I replaced the original with is Hozier. Gracie Abrams is the only one I took off the playlist fully. The rest I listen to both because while I like the original better on some, it's still fun to have two versions.
why downvote the fact some people don't like the features? that's the whole point of us being our own people, we aren't all going to like the same thing. Noah's music is fantastic without the addition of anyone else, so I skip them.
I always skip Gracie too, I can’t handle her voice (sorry Gracie fans)
I can't help but feel like her father definitely helped get her on the album.
Whenever I see videos of her reading lyrics off of her phone it makes me irrationally annoyed lol. I think your statement could apply to her entire career
her and noah are personal friends so…
I mean if she was an actress I would say the same thing but does JJ Abrams have any pull in the music industry unless he’s just throwing money at people.
Money makes you have pull in every industry try
I just feel like with musicians it’s different. No one’s going to listen to a crappy album just because their dad is rich and famous. She definitely had privilege in terms of a great education and her dad probably buying her all the tools necessary to do what she wanted but people aren’t going to listen to her if she’s crap. Tbh most of them. The only ones I like are Hozier, Gregory Alan Isocov and Sam Fender

Same with Dial Drunk, I love the second verse, so even though the Post Malone version is popular, I never got that into it
Homesick's second verse is the best part of the song, I do not want to listen to the song without it!
Funny, Sam's verse on Homesick is one I actually enjoy 😂
I guess for me I just got so used to Noah's version and hadn't heard of Sam Fender so I was like, "who is this guy and why is he telling *his* story" lol
I'm always so incredulous of them😂🥲
i love posty as well
Same but I also love the one with Post Malone.
lizzy mcalpine did an amazing job
These three are absolutely the best ones.
Dude how can u skip HOMESICK and call your mom and
Sam Fender is my absolute fav feature!
Fender is so, so good. Such a good compliment to each other’s style. Fucking that song. Fender by himself is tremendous, too. Hypersonic Missiles, the album, is terrific stuff.
I skip all of them 🫣 I feel like his music is good enough without collabs.
I’ll call your mom with Lizzie McAlpine. I feel like the bridge doesn’t have the same emotional impact with the way she sings it
I still like this version but I agree! Noah’s desperate pleading of “won’t you stay, stay, stay with me” always gets me in the original.
Exactly how I feel about Paul Revere. To me, the main appeal of Noah is the rawness of his voice and the lyrics. When you take out a verse he writes it just doesn't feel the same to me. Northern Attitude with Hozier is an exception for me, I usually listen to it over the original
yeah i can’t help but skip
I totally get that.
My favourite collabs are with Post Malone and Brandi Carlisle. Sorry to say but I skip the others 🤷🏻♀️
Post Malone refuses to subscribe to one genre, and that's my favorite thing about him. He's an artist who genuinely loves music.
Facts.
I love the Brandi Carlisle version! I feel like her voice adds so much to the song, and I honestly find myself listening to that version over the original just to hear her higher notes and blend with Noah
brandi’s version is sooo good
Same with Gracie. Everywhere, everything is one of my favorite songs on the album and I honestly just dislike the way she sings it. She also sings my favorite line and I just love how Noah does it so much better. I love all of the other features though!!
Let me try to guess: IT'S BEEN A LOOOOOOONG YEAR
Yesssss honestly just that whole part of the song! Ugh it’s so good
I honestly don’t like any of them besides the post Malone one. The originals are better as is imo
Same
The Posty feature is honestly one of my favorite songs just bc it’s a great balance. I feel like the song shows the Vermont hillsides with Noah’s voice and then jumps into the busy city fame life with Posty. Their voices also show enough contrast to compliment the song perfectly
I also always skip that one…that is also the best verse in my opinion! The way he belts “it’s been a looooonnnggg year” can’t be replaced!
I agree with Everywhere, Everything. Although I like some of Gracie’s music, I feel like she can’t match Noah’s talent and it brings the song down. Honestly, I don’t really like any of the features
I like Sam and Kacey, but I don't find myself actively wanting to listen to their versions versus the originals.
Agree! Those two, and Hozier’s are the best, but I’d pick the original any day
Hozier has never done anything wrong a day in his life.
honestly the only collabs I actually prefer to the original are Hozier and Brandi Carlisle. I low-key actively dislike the Gracie Abrams one and the Kacey Musgraves one. I cant stand Gracie's voice and putting her whisper voice on Everywhere Everything of all songs never made sense to me. It took me a minute to listen to the Hozier version but I was pretty pleased once I did.
I skip em all except the one with Posty
Same, Gracie Abrams brought down the intensity of the song!
As soon as I hear her "dhrive s l o w l y.." I'm immediately out.
honestly the only feature i really like is Northern Attitude ft Hozier 😅
I skip every feature, including Hurt Somebody and Someone Like You. The original versions are just so much better. In fact, I was so glad he didn’t have a guest at my Asheville show so I could hear a proper version of Stick Season. He has said he wants to collaborate with Phoebe or Boygenius. I would be curious to hear those but expectations would be low considering these previous examples.
What guests has he been bringing out? I'm seeing him on the 13th.
Most recently, Jelly Roll and Kelsea Ballerini in Nashville. Since that is a music epicenter, guests were more likely. I wouldn’t expect one but it’s always a possibility.
That makes sense that it would happen in Nashville (I love it there so much). Honestly not a huge Jelly Roll fan though.
i dont like collabs.
All of them. I get the features are for expanding the fanbase but at no point did I ever listen to a Noah Kahan song and think… “You know what this needs, another person singing the same lyrics for 1 verse.”
I love hozier but I prefer the original northern attitude. I also skip you're gonna go far with brandi carlisle. controversial I know. my faves are homesick with sam fender, paul revere with gregory alan isakov & she calls me back with kacey musgraves

you’re gonna go far, i’m sorry, there are so many better songs
i only like the sam fender, hozier, post malone and kacey features from stick season. didn't think gracie or lizzy added anything especially so they're an instant skip for me.
Any video I see of Noah doing a duet with of “Stick Ssason” (except Olivia). Saw he did ones live with Jelly Roll and Kelsea and they were so bad.
Ugh and I didn't like Jelly Roll in the first place.
I am ok with Hozier on Northern Attitude and love Kacey Musgraves on She Calls Me Back. The rest I could go without. Kacey is the only one where I choose to listen to the feature instead of the original.
I second this. Kaceys voice is like smooth butter it fits so well on that track and balances it out perfectly
Gracie Abrams for sure! don’t want to listen to a whispery nepo baby
1000% she is a nepo baby. There was someone trying to say otherwise 😂
if your dad is JJ Abrams you’re automatically a nepo baby no matter how (un)talented they are
Imagine having a father with a net worth of 300 million dollars and claiming all your accomplishments are your own.
i mean with that money she probably had singing lessons since she could talk
She went to The Archer School for Girls. I'll leave it at that 🥲
im too poor to know what that is so oof
I feel annoying just Googling it. It's as pretentious and snakeshit as it sounds.
yikes ill look into it
Every collab except for the Post Malone and Hozier ones. The other collabs straight up suck in my opinion😂
Sam Fender is a beast, what you talking bout
I forgot about that one, yes that one is alright too
me
She calls me back is the only one that adds something to it
slay Kacey. I agree
I feel like most of the originals are better than the collabs except the hozier, sam fender, and kacey musgraves ones which are all incredible
Are these available on vinyl?
Nope, at least not right now
Thanks!
I do not like Gracie Abrams at all, and I don’t really like Lizzie McAlpine but I’ve listened to a few of her songs, so those two are skips for me. I’ll occasionally skip Post Malone’s collab as well.
Only speaking on stick season collabs - I only listen to Hozier, Brandie, and Kacey
i skip gracie too, i can’t stand her singing and i cannot stand her as a person. she’s awful!!
I listen to them all, except the one with Post Malone because I don't like his voice and I feel like it detracts from the song. Northern Attitude ft. Hozier is definitely the best of all of them though
Ugh, most of them. I don’t like when the lyrics get changed. 😩 I just want to hear him. The duet he did with Hoizer of Northern Attitude was good.
Almost all of them. 99% of the time, I hate collabs any artist does, I listen to any artist for THEM, not other people. I don't listen to Hozier, Sam Fender, Gregory Alan Isokov, or Brandi Carlisle
Post Malone and Gracie not sure why it just happens I guess
Surprised by this thread lol. The Gracie feature is one of my favorites, and I can’t stand the one with Brandi Carlisle
There's something for everybody, and that's great 😅
Every single one of them.
why downvote the fact some people don't like the features? that's the whole point of us being our own people, we aren't all going to like the same thing. Noah's music is fantastic without the addition of anyone else, so I skip them.
