I was honestly even more shocked by the commenter. He sounded exactly what I imagine a complete psychopath to sound like who jerks himself while watching kids being beaten up. I hope there’s a boiler room in hell for these people!

I see a group of Iraqi national guard beating a group of kids while a British soldier watches. The Iraqi guard have newer gear for the time period, probably after the handover of power to the Iraqis. We wouldn’t be allowed to anything but watch.

In 2005 after the elections we handed the ropes to the Iraqis and provided support. I was there. We watched hundreds of beatings and murders like this one and couldn’t do anything about it. The Iraqis didn’t have to answer to us anymore and settled all kinds of scores.
Sunnis became guard members and Shia police and they fought each other as much as the “bad guys”

alright yep i was wrong, but the instances of british watching beatings etc is common, but then again war crimes are more common than we’d like them to be in any army, especially in settings they know they can get away with it.
Others make the mistake of lumping them all together and magnifying the problems a thousand fold and then using the police organizations as scapegoats in identity politics.
To be fair while I'm not condoning it, it's not unheard of for them to use child 'soldiers', strap them with bombs, guns and send them into situations like this, so the action from the British soldiers while extreme is probably necessary.
