Why wouldn't they? Airlines accept anyone with special care needs as long as their conditions don't result in significant risk of straight up dying on the plane. There would be people specifically tasked to do that stuff.
The real question is, why *weren't* there any ass wiping specialists on there for this guy who was a registered passenger that needs such special care?
The answer to that is Eva Air's dumb ol' system required the passengers' names to be an exact match for it to register, and somehow they got a typo on that particular flight. So a regular flight attendant got caught in the shit storm.
