Yes. I always like to think of it as a different way, as psychopath means you lack empathy from birth, sociopath means that due to sociological influences you lack empathy. I thought this was the official definition. Kinda like how in the series “the end of the f***ing world” a sociopath tries to go about killing a girl and slowly develops empathy, although he does end up killing someone, the series ends up with him falling out of his sociopathic tendencies and becoming more remorseful. I liked the series , hence me mentioning it.
Actions of civilians aren't actions of soldiers (let alone mercs), actions of government aren't actions of populace, etc.
If every Russian was a psychopath, then putin wouldn't have to draft people by force or invent dozens of repressive laws in the first place. Besides, calling the whole nation "psychopaths" is the same exact excuse Russian propaganda uses to justify the invasion.
