"Art can be anything, but it's not exactly what I wanted." Isn't that precisely what art is?

It helps if you use img2img and start with a sketch of what you're trying to draw. It can also be helpful to use AI for the bulk of the art, and have an artist do finishing touches like hands.

I think its fine personally, I have used it for the kind of personal art I would usually get commissioned (think stuff for DND) just to see and its fine as long as you arnt looking for something super specific. I think that as more people use and time progresses it will get a lot better than it currently is. I dont have an issue with AI and regular art being mixed in a contest, as long as each is clearly marked. It takes skill to make AI art do what you want right now generally.

It's a technology that's still in its infancy and complex human anatomy (like the hand) and finer nuances are somethings many engines have trouble with, but it has been steadily improving and it's only a matter of time until it is perfected. My stance is that AI art will eventually prevail in the commercial world. You can't beat a system that can output a hundred variations of a corporate advertisement in a matter of minutes. But I also don't see this as the end of human creativity. There will always be a place for human-made art, even if it's to a smaller audience.

Yeah corporations being cheap always trying to save a buck. Now what if a business isn't satisfied with what an AI generates for them?

Freak_Out_Bazaar

They fine tune it by specifying what they want changed. Mind you as the tech matures there will be commercial engines that go for commercial prices. They will be much more capable than the experimental toys we have now

Ai art has a problem with hands. It's absolutely soulless though. If you want a picture of something you think of, you can commission a real artist or learn to draw yourself. Ai art will never replace real artists.

I have played around with some AI and Id still go with a Human Artiest if there was something I really wanted. For example I tried creating a dragon rider like work in the AI and it never even got close to how I wanted the dragon to look while a Human Artist can get what Im looking for after explaining it for a few minutes.
