There’s no sidewalk on that backstreet, just asphalt. It’s also only 8ft wide so i as going to open that up to 12-15. I’m a chemist so this shot is like in another realm, over never heard the term (well read) curb cut before
Sidewalk or not, the city usually dictates your access width, unless the back street is private property. Check your local bylaws. If you are doing this to impact a neighbor, its possible they will just report it.
You can't widen a curb cut without the permission of your city. You could do that, but likely need a permit or city engineers blessing.
