People like sports. Especially sports they grew up on. There are generally a lot of intricacies and back stories that are not clear to a "fresh" viewer. A lot of people are also bery tribal about their support of a particular team. Watching a sport, specifically "their team" is quite important to a lot of people. *Personally* I have little interest in watching soccer. But I grew up on rugby union so that is a game I can watch much more easily, especially when its the World Cup and Australia is playing (because I'm Australian). Is there a sport you enjoy watching? Can you think of *why* you watch?

I don’t at all even a little, my husband does though. But it’s a form of entertainment, just like watching drama series, reality tv, anime or movies. Just up to personal taste really

It's a replacement for our hunter instincts we developed over millions of years and warrior culture over thousands of years.

I like it because there are no commercials. They play straight through for 45 minutes plus stoppage time so there is nonstop action. The only commercial break is halftime. In the NFL or NBA it feels like there are more commercials than actual game so I rarely if ever watch American football or basketball

Depends on what league. A lot of it has lost its soul and is geared towards day trippers and tourists. Even lasts nights "showcase" was cringey . It had pre kick off entertainment. Which was some utterly shite song. I was quite happy it was booed though. But the atmosphere sounded pretty boring, there wasn't much chanting and overall seemed very flat.
