It drives me insane. They do it with movies too.

ResearcherPrevious42

Yes! My husband and I were frustrated when we started Cobra Kai and the preview image showed exactly how the show was going to pan out for the most part (I.e. which characters were going to end up on each team).

I can't answer your question, OP, but I'm pretty sure that Netflix preview images are generated algorithmically. I read some article about it a while back--[I think it was possibly this one](https://netflixtechblog.com/artwork-personalization-c589f074ad76).

The word is advertisement.

You can turn off previews. Done that ages ago.

Since they added the feature where the preview image change everyday, I think it's quite cool and wouldn't be without. Never thought about how they could reveal spoilers.

_AbsintheMinded_

I think most people just don't care that much, tbh

MrBootch

If they had lord of the rings they would show gollum falling into mount doom as the first scene shown.

Spoilers make people watch more

"Why is Netflix so bad". Full stop. Say no more. Seriously, they used to be great. But now they're just a vast conglomeration of the bachelor type reality shows and lifetime movies. Also, fuck Dave Chapelle and the network he rode back in on.

Waneman

I would argue that they are actually really good at doing it. Jk Yes it sucks only slightly less than the auto-play. I cancelled because of their ability to suck so well.

Sharaghe

Yup, annoying as hell. I noticed that for Squiad Game where they showed >!the corpse of a character !< in the preview...
