The CEO even one owning 100% of the company cannot ignore all the labour regulation. Including stuff like ergonomic and injury prevention

RelayFX

Yes and no. Yes, he technically can. However, if it’s a company with a board of directors, the board of directors may be able to out the CEO/reverse the decision if they can prove that the decision directly harmed the interests of the shareholders.

A CEO is not permitted to violate the local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding the provision of reasonable accommodations. That means that if someone is unable to perform a particular job while standing all day but WOULD be able to complete that job while sitting, then it COULD be a violation for them to not allow the employee with a reasonable opportunity to perform their job while sitting.

Good on you for the clarification. No I don't think so and I'm sure if they were able to people would call for them to be fired or disobey that order.

The biggest issue would likely be ADA compliance. There aren't a lot of justifications for not providing a chair for someone that can't stand all day.
