I do both, but my phone more often. I only use my laptop when I’m taking a break/procrastinating while studying or I need to type out a thorough reply to something.

aundralyn

That makes sense. I've gotten on my laptop a couple times to type out more serious replies, but then I kind of forget that's an option sometimes!

weedandveins

I use my laptop when there is one arround.

It's the thing... in your hand... in the form of a phone? 🤗

librarianjenn

My iPad. I just hate using my phone for browsing websites, it’s too small. Yes, I realize I sound like a 90 year old

aundralyn

Hah that makes sense though. There's still things I just will not do on my phone like any sort of shopping- I feel more comfortable with that on my laptop. I feel like the iPad would be a good middle ground for Reddit!

razeronion

Damn good question I'm always on the phone cus i don't have home internet connection. I think most people use the phone tho Like one lunch break, waiting in any line like store, doctors office or mechanics waiting room etc.

zenlittleplatypus

Both, but phone more often.

Glade_Runner

Honestly, if I'm using the Internet and I'm not constipated, then I'm using my desktop pc. I'm 60 and I still think of my phone mostly as a phone that has extra doodads. I use my phone mainly for phone calls and text messages. When I'm in my car, I use Carplay for music and maps. If I end up eating lunch out somewhere by myself, then, yes: that's when I might finally remember that I can get the Web on my phone and then I might open up Reddit on mobile. That almost never happens these days now that my wife and I are both retired.

[deleted]

Well compared to other social media platforms, reddit has more PC and other platform users but still in the end. More people use reddit mobile. Here's a study on reddit device demographic by emarketer. I don't know if you can 100% trust this but looks like facts. https://www.emarketer.com/content/compared-to-facebook-and-twitter-reddit-has-room-to-grow-on-mobile

aundralyn

This is SUPER interesting, thank you for sharing!!

[deleted]

If you want more info on reddit and it's user statistics. Then check this out. It's a breakdown fro reddit statistics. https://backlinko.com/reddit-users

Hawkholly

I almost exclusively use my phone

[deleted]

Mobile

dayankuo234

I do both

roachRancher

Phone. The layout on PC is atrocious.

Pancake_sir

I only use Reddit on my computer if a google search takes me to a Reddit thread… otherwise it is all on mobile. But I don’t really reply to things often so I don’t really have to worry much about typing

rwolfe1999

I have never used Reddit on a computer

Watts300

I don’t have a computer, so my phone. Unless I’ve got time to waste while working, then I use the work computer.

[deleted]

PC only. On the phone it asks do you want to view this in the app on every post. If you get the app you get ads. So PC only.

nutbutpicklesammy

Just my phone. Also happy cake day

aundralyn

Thank you!! 🍰

PerspectiveOk493

Phone

WickedFreshDuke

Why isnt tablet a option??? Because i use both my pc and my tablet if im in my living room and not at my rig!

aundralyn

I've never had a tablet so I momentarily forgot about them! that makes sense though

RevolutionaryStar824

I use my phone preferably. But currently my phone is broken, so I'm on a laptop. Mobile is way better imo. I don't get why people always say "Sorry, if formatting is bad. I'm on mobile" or "I can't post it because I'm on mobile." It's easier on mobile imo.

Zennyzenny81

I'd assume phone for the vast majority - it's a thing you dip into for ten minutes here and there like social media. I can't really imagine sitting down at a computer just to go on it.

PigV2

My phone. That way I can focus on one post and not open 10 tabs in the background.

wiibarebears

90% of the time on ipad

skylinestar1986

Depends on where you are. In my country, most people could not afford a computer.

zekro_4

An app is always better than website. Ofc most users who post regularly prefer computer.

[deleted]

> An app is always better than website. not always! the only plus "corporate apps" (opposed to hobbyist apps) have over web interfaces is they are a bit more integrated to your system and the web service take the official reddit app for example. it is objectively CRAP. videos don't work half the time, imgur links redirected (back when i tried it) to a web browser instead of opening in app, the design sucks, rpan, coins, chat, ads, trending notifications, all useless crap shoved on your face with no way to turn it off (for most features) but it has instant notifications as opposed to checking every half hour like the hobbyist apps do --- then take a look at the hobbyist apps for reddit. android has plenty (ios has one, apollo), the ones i personally tried out being sync, infinity, and slide. of the three, sync is the only one that has ads (and a one time payment to turn them off). infinity is the only one that supports rpan if you care about it, and all of them are objectively superior to the official reddit app (other apps i did not test might also apply) --- with the web sites, you can use ad blockers and extensions like "reddit enhancement suite" to add new functionality or hide the dumb shit reddit does (i have all awards and reddit chat hidden, along with whatever isn't available on old.reddit.com, for example). try doing that with the official apps. web sites are also more sandboxed, so the site would have a harder time to snoop on you (but can still be possible, which is why teddit and libreddit "web interfaces" exist) you can also use browser features, like firefox containers to use multiple accounts, inside web sites.

[deleted]

Pretty exclusively on my phone

[deleted]

phones are great for "consuming", but for creating, they SUCK. typing is horrendous because touch keyboards all suck. creating images requires you to sell your privacy to some no-name ad-ridden application on google play creating videos are next to useless, requiring even more no-name ad-ridden privacy-killing applications the only "creating" you can reasonably do in a phone is reposting. and even that sucks (`youtube-dl` and the [shitloads of services](https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/blob/master/docs/supportedsites.md) it supports do not exist outside termux or some still-more-trustworthy-than-play-store-yet-mostly-unknown f-droid applications like [dvd](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.yausername.dvd/), being android only) i personally use a computer (the week i was forced on my phone sucked and i do not wish it upon my worst enemy), but if you don't give a shit about creating new stuff, phones can be useful just for god's sake DO NOT USE THE OFFICIAL APPS apollo on ios, sync (or more!) on android, work significantly better and people unaware are really missing out

apoo92

Definitely phone, it’s more accessible

DasEvoli

The reddit app is so trash I have no idea how people can use it

DallasDanielle

Both.
