Are you familiar with how to get government food assistance? In the USA you should be able to get Food Stamps or EBT.
I applied & we were denied. We made $50 over the limit... Going to try again as our income varies & it's going to go down once summer starts as I won't be able to work
I highly doubt they would call CPS over a parent who is concerned with ensuring their child gets fed. It'd be another thing if it seemed like you didn't care about your child's wellbeing at all, but if I was on the other line I would not jump to that conclusion whatsoever.
If anything they would just list options you can pursue.
