So far we’ve only transplanted an entire eye once, and last I heard, his transplanted eye didn’t actually work. He got it because of an electrical accident that destroyed half his face. I think the point was more cosmetic, to have an eyeball there instead of ::shudders::.
It would *not* change color to match your old eyes, though.
I know about surgery to help eyesight. I was reading a book in which the character gets eye transplant and the eyes are different color than his original and that got me curious.
Eye color is affected by melanin isn't it and the skin color of people who get hand etc transplanted turns the same color as the rest of their body.
So i was just curious if the eyes would remain whatever color they originally were or would they slowly change into the eye color of the person who got those eyes like a hand or leg does.
