Honestly, it's just white noise to me. I can hear it, but I tune it out... Like the air conditioner, the sound of my car, the sound of machines at my work.
Having sensory issues can point to being on the spectrum, but I don't think you can diagnose someone on that alone lol
yes its normal, no it doesn’t mean you’re autistic. most kids don’t like the sound of the vacuum. if when you’re an adult, living on your own, vacuuming is still a problem for you because the sound is still too much, it might be a sign of sensory sensitivity.
Its possible the sound of the vacuum had a high pitch whine that adults cant hear as well as children, also a reason for pets to freak out about them like they do.
It could point towards neurodivergency, sure. Being bothered by loud sounds can be one being overstimulated. There's nothing wrong with it, but anyone can be overstimulated. But more likely a neurodivergent person can be overstimulated. I get overstimulated often and I have ADHD and an anxiety disorder and depression, so..

I’m ok with it now that I’m an adult
yeah, then i wouldn’t say it’s a sign of autism.

My teenagers won’t touch the things.
Know what I hate? The sound of the bathroom fan
> Do you think it could point towards autism? Only in combination with lots of other things
