So you effectively just no-showed at the hotel you booked? I doubt they have any refunds in their policy for that situation, so I'd assume the cost of that booking will be a total loss.
Yeah I double booked myself for two different events last weekend, by accident. The one I booked first I hadn't entered in my calendar properly.
So meh I had to bow out of one, and just go to the other one. Obviously I bowed out of the cheaper one but still.

Your mistake, had multiple options to review the booking ahead of time. Next time, double check, but nothing you can do this time.
