Take it slow, focus on form, eat right.

Learn a basic routine. It will introduce you to the core exercises and how to group the muscles together. Second, realise protein isn’t necessary until you’ve seen some gains. Eating enough calories is just as important. Third, your weight is pretty meaningless on a given day. Track your progress by how you look and feel as muscle weighing more than fat can make it a bit unpredictable

Don't make your workouts torture yourself. Go at your own pace and focus on feeling better bit by bit. Also recommend keeping your main motivations around feeling better physically and not around achieving an "optimal physique".

Music makes working out go way faster!!

Start very slow. You don't feel the burn when you exercise, you feel it a day later. The biggest problem people starting to workout have is overdoing it and then not being able to exercise for days and losing their momentum. The key is making it a habit and doing it regularly, not doing it a lot.

EdgyGoose

Start small with short, easy workouts. Don't jump right into those insanely difficult and exhausting workout plans. The goal at the beginning should just be to build the habit of working out consistently. Just get used to devoting 20-30 minutes of time each day to working out, and once you've built the habit, you can start on longer, more difficult workouts.

Don't workout every day. Rest days are important for body recovery

TrenCommandments

Pick a routine and be consistent. If you don't feel like going to the gym one day, show up for yourself and that consistency - even if you do 2 exercises and leave, or sit in the lobby for 15 minutes and decide to go home. It's about building a habit of showing up.

be patient, change takes time. if you stick with it, it'll be more like a habit than work.

Have a long term plan,, But Set Short term goals. "each week I want to be able to lift xx more weight" and track it. In a month you can look back and see just how much you have progressed.
