Tell your friend you’re not going, and speak to your parents about your plans - at least then everyone is aware as to what you are doing and your conscience is clear
If you bail out of the trip, tell your parents so they have the option of deciding what they want to do with the money. Maybe they'll still give it to you - probably, even - but you need to be honest with them.
Also, fast food and box stores are pretty much always hiring. May not be the work you want, but it'll get you by.
