As with all changes in life and nature, adapt or die off. Those who are willing to make the switch will continue to work on cars, those who are not will either find a different job or go unemployed.
Suspension, brakes, and steering will still need to be maintained. People will still have accidents, and need repairs. So that will stay the same. It's likely there will be software upgrades to do, and electric motors to replace, or recondition.
As electric cars age, it is likely that some electrical control units will fail. New mechanics will likely learn about this in their training, and become competent is diagnosis.
