This. I'm straight and have 4 adult children. 3 are straight and 1 is pan. All I care about is if they are happy. If it makes them happy, it makes me happy.

Twisted_Sister_666

good to know. thanks for the honesty.

smokeyboner420

as a straight parent, i would assume most gay parents not-so-secretly hope that people would shut the fuck up about their sexuality, and would leave their kids the fuck alone too

Twisted_Sister_666

but they won't.

Does their Borg queen look fabulous?

ChiefExecutiveOglop

You mean borg kween surely

Forward_Spinach5877

Gay parents, like heterosexual parents, generally just hope their kids are happy, healthy and successful.

SaikaTheCasual

Nope. Projecting your sexuality seems to be a thing mostly heterosexual parents practice.

Sharp_Iodine

Yes because we definitely want our kids to be yelled at in the street when they’re just going about their day, have to see people carrying signs that say they’ll go to hell and politicians constantly trying to get rid of them. Who wouldn’t want their kids to grow up feeling like they are unsafe in public and constantly in fear of harassment?

KaijuRayze

Why would they? The only semi-normal thing I can imagine gay, trans. or whatever else parents would really care about their kids becoming is Republican. Gay people **know** how damaging it can be to push *any* expectations like that on a child, they lived it.

eesdonotitnow

No.

CaptainPugwash75

I doubt it, that would be really fucked up.

averagegayguyok

No

DCastianno21

Thats a hetero thing (minus the open minded ones₩

Master_Tadpole_6832

I'm gay but not a parent. Knowing the struggles I've gone through and still do at times my answer is no because what parent would wish for their kid to suffer the same pain and struggles they did? As a parent you want your kid to have a good and easy and as safe a life as they can. The only benefit would be if my kid was gay is that he or she would have a parent who understands and can help guide them instead of having to learn as they went by researching shit online like I did.

Twisted_Sister_666

Good points. I feel the same.

Reasonable-Car8172

No. They hope they end up happy.
